Thanks, but I thought the 34 would spin up faster than the TD05-16.

With the varied shifting on the 4eat its better have a fairly quick spin
up. High output at the top end is not so important for me.

However, the vf 11 comes up real fast but runs out of oomph above 12#.

Maybe something in between would be more suitable.

but for me this is perfect, its got a nice lag at first 3250rpm look out, this was at 12psi and i was scared, then i hit my 3step boost button and it hit 20psi and the car was a air plane. i got to tune the boost becuse the electronic boost control is out of wack, i had it working for the other turbo.

go to my other topic and see what a mess was today in the drivetrian section.

well i played with my boost controler agian to night, CAN anyone on this board say 26psi of boost, i dont think there is nothing that can beat me.

the car is insane at 26psi right to red line, speed bikes will fear me, i can give them a head start even. all i need now is longer gears and a light fly wheel and good clutch, and maybe maybe dohc heads for more flow.

to day im going to get the fuel curve worked on becuse on my lm1 i was running 10 afr now its at 11.

Too bad you live on the opposite side of the country, I'd like to see this beast of yours

Dear pistons,

I know the 34 is a great compressor, you know it too. Together you shall make awsome power. But unfortunatelly, I ran it out of its range, and you got too hot. I'm very sorry you lost your friend "ringland" and "crown", but I just thought you could handle it.

Better luck next time.

Splinter i want to drive to bc one day i will let you no if i do.

rallitektech ahhahaha that was funny. dear pistons is right, i dont think they will last to long if i abuse the 26psi, it will go higher but i need a car to drive. what is the max i should run out of the vf34 with out blowing up everything.

nico you already surpassed the level you should run with that turbo. im suprised the wastegate will hold it. even an fpgreen has trouble holding 23 psi if you leave the wastegate unpluged from a pressure source

Nico

Always thought the half-life of any performance increase was about two months , when then "more" would be necessay.

With you and the lighter fly wheel, your performance half-life seems to an hour or less :!:

azn2nr so i whent past the boost level of this turbo, i better back it down then i am going to stay at 20psi from now on, im going to get it tuned for 20psi.

Subtle no my motor is strong i hope it last more than hour hahahahha.

if i tune it up with proper fuel managment and if everything is ok with 20psi i think it will last another 4 years 300,000ks.

I hope to hell you have some variety of Piggyback and large injectors to be running that kind of boost...and if you don't I suggest you do some reading on tuning and not blowing the fuck out of your motor...

If you actually knew what you were doing, you wouldn't have run your turbo up to 26psi...

I hate to be the one to say it...but it is as simple as that...

As incomprehensible as his grammar is, I think Nico has a pretty good grasp of what he's doing.

HaHa yeh his grammar is horrible. I'm kinda suprised the turbo was able to hold 26psi. When i had my 16G, i could unhook the wastegate and it couldn't make more than 16psi in any gear except fifth.

no kidding, id think the boost would petter off at a cirtian point even if you welded the gate shut.

you guys are saying it should not go that high, even my vf11 has hit 19 20 21 psi, are you guys useing raceing headers and have you seen my down pipe.

for boost control i use a turbosmart e-boost, that thing is crazy, its hard to explain what it does but it works in all types of ways.

by dzx
Not because it won't spool up that high but because the internal wastegate might be forced open before it can. That's the problem I was having with my 16G, part of the reason i went to a t3/t4 with external wastegate.

you need to take some pics of your stuff for us nico. and yes you shouldnt go that high.

just as another data point, my vf11 has seen 18+ psi (for about 1/2 sec) when I dialing my MBC in after an emissions test. 2nd or 3rd gear - I can't remember

carry-on

o lord you should see what I got today,

I went to some guy that imports motors. for a grand I got a maybe he said a ver2 he thinks.

it comes with a vf22 and yellow side feed injectors. the block says ej20, it has the dohc heads. im going to put those heads on my ej22 block.

im going to sell the block to my friend that is building a rally car, he needs a extra block. he also will take the injectors.

the injectors are the same ones I got right now on my car, sti yellow side feeds.

the guy said it was a sti motor, when I get it here on Saturday I will give all the specs for it and pics.

so if I put these heads on with my set up right now, will I gain even more hp. the motor has a coil pack so its a direct boltin.

is a vf22 better then a vf34 im going to try which one is better when I get the motor in, then one of the turbos is for sale.

azn2nr I will make lots of pics for you + all the toys I got in this sti motor.

thats not a sti motor. its a ej20k. wrx motor. its a legend because when tuned it will kick the sti of the same year's ass. the sti had a vf23. the vf22 is the largest of the vf turbos.

i want to see a pic of your boost gauge at 29 psi nico. and everything else too.

the vf22 is bigger then my vf34 WOW.

i cant wiat to get all this stuff on my ej22t motor. dont worry i will give you full pics like crazy, i want everyone to no how to set there ej22t motors up for crazy HP with the best add ons for it to work.

azn2nr thanks for the good news on my new motor, i will show you 26psi i dont want it to blow up. i just put in a 9.lb fly wheel and clutch i got to work them in for 450miles the paper siad, im about half way so far.

I think it's annoying to have to make a 90 Deg. adaptor for the Turbo.
