LoL yea it is. are you sure you dont have like a JDM WRX ECU there?

i would say, one of the first ten to be the first shipped in north america.

my ecu is not a jdm, my ecu is total diffrent then the one's you have. my make modle year was special.

i have 5 ej22t ecu's, and none of them look like mine. my legacy turbo was imported in one of the first shippents.

So take a picture already,

You obviously have something other than a subaru ECU.

You can take total credit for nothing.

You have proven nothing, you have contributed nothing, and more importantly you have nothing to show picture wise which would at least give some credit to what you have typed..

Its all bullshit in my eyes as far as I am concerned.

300 whp is believable. You are not. Please, please change my mind.

I'd like to see pics of the ECU as well.

I wonder if mine has a chip socket, since it's an early '91 (manufactured 6/90).

Guys....

I talked with Andy from Neetronics today.

As it's mentioned, the car needs to come to them, or they come to the car to tune it.

He said that this was on a stock turbo legacy ECU, and that all they had to do was swap out the EEPROM.

They can tune fuel, timing, ignition, etc.

An ideal configuration IMO would be to run the JECS maf sensor, with larger injectors, and defeat the wiring that tells the ECU that the wrong MAF sensor is being used. That will give you more headroom with the MAF sensor, and when they tune, they'll just tune things for the JECS MAF sensor.

Andy asked for some pictures of the ECU boards. I'm going to take pictures of the ECU's I have floating around. I think I've got a 1990 n/a hitachi ECU, 1991 Turbo hitachi ECU, and 1992 n/a JECS ECU.

Doug is that picture of my 1990 JECS ECU?

Here's a few pictures of the 1990 JECS ECU...although not great
http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/images/swap/19

I think this is a viable option for tuning, however it's not the most "portable" option for lots of people, nor is it going to be cheap. However it may be the only good option besides stand-alone.

I've renamed this thread to something more appropriate of the discussion, and moved it to the electrical forum.

^^ wow your ecu does not even look like mine.

also you dont need to change the maf, you can but i had no problem just bye removing the plate in the in side of the stock one.

Is there anyone here in the states that could do this type of thing wit hthe ecus?

Would it be possible to do something similar to an NA ecu to run a turbo motor? properly?

Rare car, yes...Rare ECU design...not in the least!!!

I think there is something missing here...I would still love to know what your ECU is actually out of Nico...

Do you have the label in it still? What are the numbers?

Holy moly. How did I miss this thread the first time? Nico is entertaining as usual, while breaking down the barriers of what we think is possible, as usual. The part about being retarded and such had me rolling. It's just too funny to see someone new cross paths with Nico. I hope to hear more about this ECU stuff going forward...

BMX punk, there is a guy here in Boulder who is doing VW, BMW, AUDI and Honda chips. He might be able to do something for our cars. I'll try to get in touch with him seeing as it looks as if I am getting my first BC, but that's a story for elsewhere once it's official...

Damn I was going to mention this to you yesterday matt, but i forgot and figured that you had seen it.

Nico have you got a hold of the dyno chart yet? Not as concerned with power as with the curve and a/f ratios. I am trying to decide how to go about my car and factory ecu reliability/adaptability would be great.

I've got detailed pics of the three ECU's, however the internet at the airport won't let me onto my server, or my server is down. I'll post tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah, my only issue with the ECU tuning is it wouldn't let me mess with things.....
