Yeah, I'd wouldn't cap it except for the fact that I'd want to somehow protect it from stuff going inside and getting stuck there in case I ever wanted to just hook the coolant lines back up. The outside of my engine isn't rusting but it is covered with grit, grime, and grease.

Hm, maybe some kind of filter... I bet you could fit some breather filters onto those barbs. :)

Come on, whats in the back of the engine that is going to float upwards?! If you where worried about it why not filter the AC drain and charcoal canister.

I'm not familiar with the AC drain, but the charcoal itself acts as a filter for the atmospheric line off the canister. :)

I agree it's a very small risk and you'd probably never have a problem with it.

hmm, maybe I should take the caps off my throttle body then.
