YAY!!! Just bought a link ecu for $100 shipped!!!!
We'll see if I can figure it out....
Im going to hang onto my safcII and dis2. I might even use the dis2 with the link - but Im keeping both for now - just in case I cant get the link to work...
Plus the block should be done getting honed and cleaned on monday or tuesday.
I cant wait to start putting all these pieces together. Reminds me of when I was little - LEGOs were the best!!!

Ok, block and crank are back from the shop. Im going to be ordering pistons as soon as crawford performance is open. There are a few very small lines in the bore that did not come out with the hone. My guy at the shop said that he wouldnt even bother with them if the motor was n/a, but its going to be turboed. He said it probably wont cause a problem, but wanted to make sure I knew it could possibly create an oil consumption issue being turboed and all...
Im also waiting to put the block back together until I get some plastigauge. It seems like a big pita to use... I guess I have to put the bearings in with a little fresh oil on the back, assembly lube on the front of the bearings and the crank, and just torque it down with some plastigauge on there?
Then I read the gauge based on how the strip smudged and if all is well, I clean, reapply oil, and seal the cases with permatex gray?
All sound ok? Missing anything?

Case halves, crank, and rods are together
ooo - forgot to mention - plastigate was within .001 for crank and all rods. Its amazing that a 140k engine has virtually no crank wear...
Cant wait till my pistons get here

Hehe - I bought stock sized pistons and only got a bottle brush hone done. The cylinders had virtually no wear other than a small vertical line in one cylinder that is about 1" long. The line is BARELY visible after the bottle brush hone....
I paid $100 for brand new OEM ej22t pistons... Im at my budget limit and almost done spending money... If I had to bore the block and get oversized pistons, it would up my spending at least $500.... - You have to keep in mind - I set out to spend under $1000, and Im at about $1200...

Just curious what everyone else with 2.5 dohc heads was doing with the pcv and crank vent... Block them off? Atmospheric filter?
Run them all together and go atmospheric filter?
Whats everyone else doing?

Ok, as an update -
Pistons are now in the new/used block. Apparently Subaru no longer makes "C" pistons. I am using 3 new pistons and one used one because of this. All got new rings and the used piston was in perfect shape.
Thank you to Evolutionmovement for the block, and thank you to Blackbart for shipping me back the piston I traded to him

.
Both of these guys are are quality gentlemen!!!
Heads are now also on the block. I am in need of one valve cover screw though... They break very easily
I should be ready to install the motor by the next or following weekend...
