Has it been a few days yet? :)

Can we see pictures of the brackets themselves?

I'll post bracket pics tomorrow I suppose.

You all saw the pic I posted below? 316x18 ;)

We did, thank you :). I'd just like to see a picture of the bracket itself so I know exactly what I'm about to be buying.

And I'm a little torn as I already have a set of new 290 rotors, but the balance of having the 316's in the back would be awesome. Hmm....

Meh, sell the 290 rotors.

Since my car is an L, do I do this for the rears, or get the RacingBrake rear 290mm setup for under $300 which use my calipers, IIRC?

It depends.

Pricing hasn't yet been run by me, but I would imagine the cost of the vented upgrade would be within $100 or $200 of the non-vented upgrade.

Personally, I'd do the vented. But that's just me.

Nice, those brackets look well made. What kind of casting/alloy? And that really is a big difference between the 316's and the 290's. Maybe I will just have to sell the 290's. Did you try both the 290's and the 316's? Notice any difference in the bias between the two?

And a big thanks for all the work to get these to production.

I haven't played with the 316's yet. The 290's are really nice.

The brackets are built exactly like the OEM ones. Mine are pre-production, so the production ones will be finished a bit nicer. Cast from a modified mold that OEM brackets are cast in.

It's funny, I got them still wet with paint. Mine are black. The production ones might be Red like their standard H6 kit.

You may have covered this...but will those there brakes fit under RS 6 spokes?

novice question..

so this is just for the rears? is there a benefit to stock 94 legacy rears with disc?

Nick, Yea the 316's will fit under All Subaru 16" wheels! If they fit under Forester 16's they'll clear anything!

TheFlyStyle, Yea this kit is just for the rears. There are already plenty of innexpensive front brake upgrades. There would be many advantages to your current rear brakes. Greater mechanical advantage, better cooling, but the downsides are added rotational mass and with the small L front brakes a disproportionate amount of rearward brake bias.

It's a kit geared more towards the turbo and high-load driving crowd. Still, as many will attest, balanced braking in ANY car will make it much faster.

Sometimes you have to be able to slow down faster

Prices:

Projected price of the 290x18 kit is $350. The 316x18 kit is $420 (including new rear brake lines).

I wasn't told if this includes the caliper or not, so price may vary.

Pretty good price though, I'd say.

So this is for the brackets and the vented rotors? Not bad considering the nonvented setup is a hair under $300.

Correct. I haven't gotten a price for the calipers too, but it won't be too expensive.

Pretty cool, huh? I'm happy with how it all came together.

That is a pretty good price, particularly considering the rotors are directionally vented and slotted.

Is there an option for just the brackets?

Very likely, but I don't know how much it'll be.

So you guys think this setup will sell?

I think a lot of people would be interested not only for the old Legacy's, but for newer cars that people want to upgrade without buying the 2-pots or something of the like. Where can you find oversized vented setups for the rear of a Subaru? RB dot com....

I've been extremely happy with my RB setup in front. I have 2.5 years on the rotors and they have not rusted AT ALL. Plus, the sound of slotted rotors is just plain cool when you get on them.

How much would it cost to replace the brakes all around?

-L Wagon. :-D

Would the 290s or the 316s be a better match for WRX fronts? My first reaction would be the 316s, but would like to hear from more knowledgeable parties.
