I put a 2" long piece 2"(?) pipe into a 90 elbow I had, and then the stock 90 on that...I doubt it's collapsing (I hope).
I thought the VF-series were not rebuildable.....that's good news!

This is a great thread Todd, even though it was in the Revtronix days
So long story short, the rebuilt turbo blew instantly, they blamed it all on me, now I spent $1050 on an old Td05-16G, that's Blouch 16g-XT $$$$
So now I'm super paranoid to reinstall the re-rebuilt turbo ! He said there was not enough oil and it looks like dirt ate the bearings up. They honed it out for larger bearings so I'm thinking it was there fault.
But I am very concerned that the banjo bolt in the top of the turbo is to small. I pulled the one from the TD04 and it's exactly the same size, I was thinking it was gonna be a tad large hole ? I then checked my VF11 and the oil feed line is missing. So now I'm worried that I used the wrong oil feed line
Does anybody have a spare TD05 lying around that they could measure the hole in the banjo , and see if there's only 1 hole or 2
Any help would be much appreciated , thanks !
Reid.

Reid,
You'll want to throw this onto a new post in the Turbo forum to get more responses...since this thread is growing mold on mold!
But for reference I've always used the same banjo bolt on all my turbos - for better or worse - and the only one that I had an issue w/was the 'ebay special'...and I don't know what killed that turbo.
If possible,
I'd suggest getting a 2nd opinion on what blew your rebuilt turbo. You might have some recourse w/the Rebuilder if you can show them that another shop verifies the cause.
In the meantime you'll want to verify everything else is copacetic. Read up on here and NASIOC (many more users!)on what to look for.

TD

Ah I finally found it immediately after posting .
Kinugawa States that it's 1.5mm for a Subaru M10 banjo. 2mm on a Mitsubishi M12 banjo !
http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/turbo ... ole-1.aspx
Ya I had the shop that recommended them listen to the noise.. Oh well, they will be losing that shops business. Which works on many Turbo cars . Audi 2.7TT , 1.8T's and plenty of Porsche Turbos !
But my buddy from the shop is coming over to help me and were gonna loosely install the turbo , and watch oil drip out as we prime it
