Be sure to update with pictures of how you mount those side skirts. I have a pair myself that I haven't put on. Painted them black and then didn't like them so I'm waiting until I buy white paint to match the car but who knows when that's gonna be.

Hell no. I'm probably going to use some but just to keep the skirts in place better. I'm going to fasten them on with some other brackets. I don't like things flying off my car on the freeway. Or other people's cars...that means you whoever is double-sided-taping things onto their vehicles!

I believe the double sided tape goes on the sides of the car under the doors.

nice progress man, I like your style haha. Sorry to hear about all your misfortune! If you are looking for some good hoses for oil use check your local genelco, they carry aeroquip hoses which are specific for oil and high psi oil/ hydraulic lines, and if you buy their fittings they will assemble your hoses for you!

sorry about not getting back to you on the sleaves, no you cant use the block, you wouldn't be able to get the wrist pins out if you left the sleave like it was,and if the block has overheated that badly I would worry about the sleaves being loose. You would have to re-sleave the block.

Well block has been split apart. Rod#4 bearing spun and was torn up. Block is at the machine shop with the crank to be bored 20 over for my new Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods. Very excited!

So you know all those snags I keep finding? Ya got two more. Crank with the spun bearing cannot be turned since they don't make bearings that size. Then my spare crank from the block I had before is also bad. The machine shop I go to has a crank std size polished with ACL bearings for 250 so that's going to cut into my wallet Monday. Dam dam dam

Will this bolt up to the vf11? I can't remember. I plan to make brackets and just Straight pipe it out the side but I have no downpipe since I sold it to some kid

Yes, it should bolt up to the stock turbo. It won't fit the rest of the stock exhaust, but for you it sounds like that won't be a problem.

Ok so my rebuild is underway and I had most of the gaskets that I need. My set didn't come with the o-rings that go between the block halves. I bought some o-rings that matched the old ones from Oreillys. I am being told that this is a bad idea and I have to use Subaru Specific o rings so they don't break down inside. Has anyone used over the counter o rings or do I have to go to Subaru specific ones. I don't want to take the motor apart again but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Are you planning to replace the stock head bolts with ARP studs? Personally, I'd recommend it.

Also....I hate putting in that damn rear crank seal. It's a pain in the butt!

Yep i already have the studs they were installed during the last rebuild. How tight do they go into the block before placing heads on?

Try and clean the stud holes out as best you can, and the studs should be bottomed out. What I did for mine was screw in the studs snuggly into the block, but not super tight.
