I Know this one will but it is pricey, plus I would still need another piece for the snorkus delete, like the apexi intake for the 1993 sti.......does anyone make a V1/2 STi inlet pipe like that earlier post I made??

Hmm, I'd love to get just the 90 degree elbow that goes into the turbo. Wonder if I could buy it separately.

My only concern with silicone hoses before the turbo is that they don't collapse under a large acceleration burst and choke air flow. I know someone on the boards experienced this issue with a 90 degree elbow into a straight inlet turbo. Don't know the brand or quality of the elbow, but something to be aware of.

Josh, I think he had a thin wall sillicone elbow, it looked like it was just one layer rubber, no string inside of it at all.

If you got one like that samco i would imagine it's 4 layer, should be fine.

I think if you buy quality hoses that have sufficient ply count it's not a problem. My silicone hoses from ASI Performance would never collapse. They're plenty stiff.

yeah they are prob right, those samco hoses are the real deal, expensive though...I think if I used this kit with a td04 or tdo5 I could even use that other elbow with no ports as the one cming off the urbo, and aluminum sleeve and then the other 90 deg hose with the ports and the apexi V2 wrx intake and have a decently cobbled together intake.

I was also going to grab some tmic hoses from samco, hopefully I won't need to cut it anywhere, I would really not want to cut an expensive samco hose....and since it is samco, and this is going to be my wife's car, she has requested purple silicone hoses, which samco actually makes lol

lol I let her have creative control over her car, she wants to get this purple crank pulley, which IMO it actually looks badass, so she wants the hoses to match haha

on another more serious note, I am in DIRE need of a 3.90 AT trans....aamco wants $1300 to do the repair to the pump . I already HAVE to pay them at least $500 for the removal and install of the tranny so I might as well buy another trans and have them install it.....I can get a rebuilt trans online for under $800 with a 5 year warranty but I ain't got no $800...so i am fucked....this is exactly why I don't buy AT cars lol

my other option would be to canibalize my 04 RS and swap the 5spd trans over to this car...I really would rather not do that but my options are very limited

I live in Rhode Island...I went there b/c I am broke as a joke and they have a payment plan. I already have to pay them the $500 for labor so If I do find a replacement tranny I would still just have them do it...won't be any extra.

I tried to do the motor swap to save loot, but in the process I broke my trans pump. If this was a 5spd I'd be driving it as we speak :(

so no takers on an auto 3.9 trans?

are there any other AT transmissions from any other years that are confirmed to work and "plug n play" I see a bunch of cheap 96 97 98 OBS transmissions for like $100...i just don't want to waste $$ if I can't use them. I know they all bolt up, but it's the wiring that concerns me, if it will work perfectly...any help would be awesome! I am really in a bind here and just don't have the dollars after spending so much on trying to get 2 cars running lately...I am tapped out and need a quick fix asap!!!!

You need a phase 1 4EAT with 3.9 final drive ratio. The phase 1 4EAT went up until about 96-97....somewhere in that time frame. You can tell the phase 1 from the phase 2 4EAT's by looking at the electrical connectors. The phase 1 has square/rectangular plugs. The phase 2 has one rectangular plug and one that is kind of octagonal shaped with the electrical pins.

The 92-94 non-turbo Legacy has a 3.9 final drive ratio and would be a direct swap. There may be some 95-96 Legacies or Imprezas that may have a 3.9 final drive ratio, but I'd have to verify that.

The 00 RS has a phase 2 4EAT and won't work.

Different electronics. Check the electrical connector plugs on the transmission. The ones on the phase 1 4EAT were rectangular, and were indicated as B15 & B16. Both are located at the bottom right of these scans.

If the 00 RS has the same connectors, it may work, but it will likely not. I think B15 will match up, but B16 will be different.

Should have it back tomorrow! Finally got back to work so I have been paying them $200 a week, they said they wouldn't order the parts until I paid them a certain amount first...hence the long ass down time. But I drove by and saw it up on a lift today so once I get it back I'll take some pics, then it is rattle can and bondo time :D

you said the trans shifted good before, should have plenty of tranny juice flowing through there now so should be gravy, I can't wait to get it back! I STILL HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT YET!!!!!!

PS my wife has named the car "Sex Panther" Keep in mind it will be sating black with anodized purple legacy snowflake rims. Maybe eventually some nice 4/2 pot brakes. I think it is funny that my wife went ape-shit over those purple samco hoses lol, they are nice but why so damn expensive?! They are like $200 for 2 90 deg elbows and a recirc hose for the BOV/BPV what gives???
