I guess I could just tap it into that one hose there...would make it easier than getting to the ports on the manifold itself....looks like tight quarters.

Next thing to do is to get all the proper sized silicone pieces according to the steel pipes I have. I know I should be using stainless blah blah blah, but I am too broke for all that so I have some mild steel exhaust piping I am going to use, gonna buy a harbor freight pipe expandera to make lips on the end of them and just spray em all in high heat paint/clear. Should be plenty to hold boost and won't rust up on me.

I might do the coffee can/AOS/silicone 90* elbow first now just to get all that worked out before the intercooler.

I'm not sure exactly how the AOS is configured inside, but as long as the routing you choose accomplishes the same thing as the stock configuration/routing you should be fine using a generic silicone hose or steel piping.

Tried to mock up the vf11 w/ the intercooler the other day...what a pain, this 45 degree angle outlet is killing me, I am going to need to put some really wierdly curving piping in to make it work.....if there is any interest I could blueprint the design I come up with and have a local fab shop make a few up.....

if anyone is interested let me know.

haha you guys are going to laugh at this one, so it turns out I have no vac leak, and in fact no boost leak...The LED bulb I was using in the boost gauge was too tall and touching the internal mechanism for the gauge and not allowing it to read properly...so now it reads from 20 inHg @ idle to 7 PSi at WOT....ncie but now I need new bulbs.

Nice :) I am prob not going to drop the almost $500 for that DP either but there is a place that makes a divorced DP for like $100 plus shipping so I am going to grab that one...that way I don't feel bad about putting in a bung for wideband...

Unless anyone knows of an 02 sensor that has narrow band for the ecu and wide for a gauge as separate wires...

I still need to get the silicone pieces I need for the tmic...I might just buy another turbo just to make it easier...I have no idea how other people made it work with a vf11...it just seems impossible...

A 45 degree elbow is best used for the tmic install with a vf11

All major widebands can simulate a narrowband output to the ECU.
The two big ones are Innovate and AEM UEGO.

I found a gauge that supposedly does both, gives a wideband reading as a decimal and a narrowband as an LED rich staunch lean readout...seemed interesting... It also shows battery voltage for the 1st 60 seconds of KOEO

OK so the TPS idle switch code is gone, now I have code 44 and 51, one for the wastegate duty solenoid, the other for the neutral safety switch signal. Any idea what might cause these?

How is boost when trying to get into it? Do you need a new wastegate solenoid?

Honestly, it seems like there is no issue. You can certainly feel the boost come on. Not sure how quick these cars are supposed to be in stock form but it is about as quick as fast as my RS was....was a blast in the snow today :).

If I have to get a new wastegate solenoid I am just going to get a manual one...does that make you guys throw a code, or you just leave the old one plugged in?

I think turbo legacy and rs had the same hp ratings, could be wrong on that tho. The rs has a better gear ratio in my opinion. Plus some rs had a lsd in the back

Rs is 165 crank hp with a 4.11 gear. The 00-01 rs had LSD.

I think only the 00 auto had lsd. I remember searching junkyards for one. It may be 99-00 auto.

RS has 5 more HP, but the SS has 16 more torque. RS had optional vlsd in 99, and standard VLSD in 00-01, both manual and auto. RS weighs less, and has a sharper turn in, and way more rigid body. I'd still take an SS (assuming a 5mt) every time. :)

My ss yeah but in the future I think rs with swap would be better. But 2006 legacy gt would be better.

Check the resistance of the boost control solenoid.

I'll check that, do you have the resistance spec? I am not sure if alldata has the specs for that or not.....is this the same solenoid that controls wastegate pressure? And do I need a resistor if I am going with an MBC?

00/01 RSs were all 4.44 LSDs and all the autos were, some of the 99 RSs were also LSD it was optional. I think the 98 manuals were 3.91 and the autos were all 4.44 LSDs. My 2004 RS is a 3.91 open, I have a 3.9 LSD sitting around, just havent decided which car it is going in yet.

Yesterday I go out to the parking lot next to my house (parking bad) and find I had been plowed in on the front, and the woind blew a nice snow drift right behind me.
Image
In case you were wondering, this is my passenger's fender/ wheel well lol
Image

The snow is literally above the floorboards
Image

still got out no problem, D is basically useless on the 4EATs when it snows though, kept it int 3 or 2, and 1 i I was"stuck"
Image
I must say Sex Panther is awesome in the snow, despite the worn tires that Mark had given me with the car it still never gets stuck, even on steep hills that 4WD trucks struggle to climb, lol maybe the fact that I have an entire subaru rear end in my trunk helps me keep the rear end planted.
