dude it's easy to make money
with your first car do the sunday cup like 3-4 times, and sell each prize car
then buy some version of an sti, keep upgrading it til you've got like 375-400 hp, and enter the star of pleiades tourny. You can put it in B-Spec and raise the rate of time by 3 and be done with the whole series in less than 10 minutes. Which is great if you don't already have the I-B license. Assuming you came in first for each race and then sell the impreza you win after that, you just made 220k credits. rinse and repeat with upgraded parts.

Oh, man... I've been playing this for a while...

That's my GT4 gallery. I actually took some great shots of the DeLorean, including one that had it flying with flames out the tailpipes... but I didn't have my iPod plugged in, so I saved them as film on the memory card... and when I developed them, the flames were gone. >.<
Awesome game... I'm addicted.

I love the tvr griffith.
They have the caterham! siiiick!
Hard to justify when it fills the same role as the griffith though.

Even harder to justify when you're not able to race it against anything, since it's a "special car." Some other cars do this too. I think "special" means awesome.

Yea, kinda weak that you can't race the Special cars.
I have like 23 cars, lol. I still have the Elise, even though I use the CEIN for all MR races.
I've got the Spec-C even though I've got the race car. I've got the CSL, even though I have the GT-R.
And I have a 1085hp Dodge Viper SRT-10, which has seen more dirt and snow miles for photo shoots, than it has track miles (needs lots of suspension tuning to handle the Ring with that much power).

The Caterham needs a lot of tuning for the ring too. It tends to get wheels airborne and lose direction quickly. Often all 4.

Yea, you can't run super stiff suspension on the Ring.
I pulled my fastest lap times in the M3 with suspension not much stiffer than you'd be able to tolerate on the street.
The Viper, though, well, it's still way to stiff for The Ring, and it likes being airborne...
I should probably tune the Viper into a car capable of actually handling on The Ring, but I'm lazy, and the current setup is fun for drifting.
Tons of snap oversteer though, so it get's squirely, espically since it will clear 250mph on the back straight on The Ring.

I made $500,000 in 30 minutes...
How else do you think I could afford the cars I have?

I see how you can make money, but I have a hole in my pocket right now...
Actually, I am totally and completely broke where my game sits right now. That's right. 0 credits.
Anyway, I'm 100% old-school right now, here's my list of cars:
1) `89 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 at 291 hp
2) `95 Subaru Impreza STi V2 at 271 hp (still stock

)
3) `90 Infiniti G20 at 191 hp
4) `81 Isuzu Piazza XE (our old Impulse) at 175 hp
5) `93 Mazda 323F (Lantis in GT1) at 222 hp
6) `84 Nissan Skyline 2000 RSX Turbo R30 at 223 hp (just stage 1 exhaust and suspension)
They're all done up with my "Stage 1 package"

, except the Subaru, which is Stage 1 everything (exhaust, suspension, turbo/NA, IC if applicable, clutch, flywheel, sports soft tires, and weight reduction), then add PNP and engine balancing.

Whaaa? I can start a game of GT3 and be banking 6 figures and multiple cars in a couple hours.
In GT4, do the special tarmac rally events. It's 2 races that are 2 laps each and you win a Toyota rally car worth $265k. That's a lot of mod money for about 10 minutes of racing.

yes that's a good method, but you have to drive no b-spec. I like the ability make posts and sill be able to make money
That RSC car is good thou\gh.

Am I the only one who totally dislikes B-Spec mode?
I want to be driving, not telling someone else how to drive!
What car do I need to do the tarmac rally events? Do any of my aforementioned cars fit the bill?

Do they have Isuzu I-Mark RSs (the ones with the Lotus suspension)?

No, they have 3 Isuzu cars that I know of: two are old 60's cars (I believe one is called a Belett) and the Piazza/Impulse...

I hate the iA license test.
Trying to do The Ring, clean in under 10 minutes was pissing me off. I kept tapping the bumper of the Skyline, and you fail if you pass it. I FINALLY passed (as fast as the Skyline would let me at 8'58), and had to get SERIOUSLY on the brakes to avoid passing that pesky skyline. I was pulling on him in the back straight (I <3 Drafting), and bumped him at 157mph, just to prove a point.
I ended up drifting half of the turns, and seeing if I could drop 3 wheels off the track.
Behold...

I surprised myself in the Grand National, and have been pulling CONSISTANT 7'13 second Ring runs.
I bet if I pulled a CLEAN run, I could get below 7 minutes... in a RWD, 1987, 4-speed crazy car. Top speed = 201mph on the bottle.

I haven't done any B-Spec yet but it sounds lame. I only get to play it at work and it's a "team" effort. There is one Memory Card and we all work on the career.
I used the 400 R Skyline that we won when we did one of the Japan Series events. Just use your best road car, since it's tarmac you should be alright.

Phil- I know, I hated that test. I kept running into the pace car too. The damn pace car will slam on it's brakes way more then needed sometimes and I'd either bump it or pass it.
The last Super test is the ring in 8 min. That's a bitch.
BAC5.2 wrote:I ended up drifting half of the turns, and seeing if I could drop 3 wheels off the track.
It's ok that your skills are lacking Phil and you can't keep it under control, you don't need to say you're purposely trying to put 3 wheels off the track.

All the cool kids keep 3 wheels off the track.

I got the game last week when it came out, it's totally cool!
I have yet to drive the Benz 2.5-16 EVO II. I'm big into Mercedes so it's requisite that I give it a try. I'm glad to see they put the E55 in it to, except it doesn't handle worth shit, but is sure fast. There is a pretty impressive lineup of Subarus, except I was hoping there would be a BC RS Legacy, but I guess the GT-B wagon is pretty cool.

555BCTurbo - You'll be very pleased with the 190E. It's a good handling car. Just the right amount of power to have a LOT of fun, without risking dropping off the track.

Man I thought that tarmac rally was gonna be hard.
I did everything Stage 2 on my Galant, and went for it, pushing about as hard as I could. Next thing I know, the guy is about 20 seconds behind me!
So I sold that ugly-ass Toyota rally car and got $265k out of it
Heading off to the Subaru dealer

My new sleeper:
Don't knock it till you try it. With a stage 3 NA upgrade its damn fast and not that heavy either.
