No, Steve really is a dork. And so am I. We're actually proud to admit it

I'm skinny as hell, don't know that I'm a dork
or a geek, though.

I eat WAY too much fast food (I live on it) and other junk food. I'm WAY too busy at work (six days a week, anywhere from 8-12 hours a day). I'm focussing(sp?) all my attention to work right now, as I'm taking over the car dept. (mobile electronics). I don't know what I can do to eat better, cuase I can't wake up any earlier for breakfast. Just not possible, not sure why. When I do get off work, I'm lazy as f*ck.

I like the idea of adding recipes to this thread. Here's my own vegetarian enchilada recipe.
2 bell peppers
1-2 packages firm tofu
8 tortillas
18(ish) oz enchilada sauce
2 onions
10oz cheddar cheeze
2 cans anahiem chilis (ortegas)
1 can olives (sliced or 'coffee ground style')
Saute peppers, onions, crushed tofu, in a few oz of enchilada sauce. Add peppers and olives for last 3 minutes. In a 8x11 pan, pour 1/3rd of remaining E-sauce. Fill tortillas with a scoop of filling and ~1oz of cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake @ 350 for 45m-1hr. Serves 7.
Fast food tastes disgusting when you haven't had it for a few months.

If you want to replace fast food with something slightly more nutritious, get some MRP's. You just mix them with milk.

I thought you didnt have to add anything to those hence Meals Ready to Eat.

You don't....but if there is no water near-by then you are screwed as it takes water to activate the warming pouch.
I will say this..."Some of the meals are pretty good." You get a ton of stuff in those tiny packages. Mints, matches, napkins, salt, pepper, hot suace, crackers, desert...Juice...the kitchen sink....everything in azn2nr's parts shed post.

They are MRP's you can get them at GNC or weight lifting places. Meal replacement powders designed for people that don't have time to cook. The only one i'll touch is chocolate and i've never really liked chocolate much. Too scared to try the others.

This thread is scary as hell for me since I'm 15 and about 210ish (I dont really want to know the actual number

) and 5"8'. Its not all fat... I think?

YIKES I need to lose weight.

It's interesting to see this thread resurface a year later. I'd like to know how everyone is doing with their healthy lifestyle choices.
I started eating less meat and more veggies and pasta. Also I try to avoid things like white bread or even whole wheat bread because they're mostly just over-refined sugars and flours with no nutrients in them. I'm using dark rye bread now for breakfast toast and sandwiches.
Never ever "go on a diet". Instead try making adjustments to your lifestyle or eating habits to make you more healthy overall.
Since last January I've been adjusting my food intake and amping up my physical activity (biking, walking to work, etc) and I've now dropped about 60lbs and I feel a lot better. I was WAAAAAAAAAY too fat before and now I'm just 'too fat'.
This year's assault on the wasitline is starting with a rationing of my Pepsi intake. down from 710ml/day to 355ml/day. that's 150 calories each day that I won't have to burn off later.
The most important part I have found though is that you have to treat yourself every so often or you'll just be miserable and will fall off the wagon quickly. I treat myself with a Donair on thursday and a small blizzard after Improv (
http://www.angrybeavers.org ) friday night. the rest of the week I try my damnedest to eat well and do things.
remember, the longer we live, the longer we get to drive our subarus!

I didn't pay much attention to this thread when it was active, but a lot has changed.
I got a Schwinn recumbent exercise machine in May and improved my diet by both eating healthier and eating fewer calories.
Exercise and a proper diet...can't fail, right?
Didn't fail for me!
Every time I see the weight-loss compendium thread I think that maybe I should put "Healthy Living" in there somewhere.
As Fishy said, you should make sure you treat yourself. I got to a point where I was probably eating too few calories for the amount of exercise I was doing and my muscle mass.
I shed 70lbs and inspired a few people close to me to start getting serious about actually doing something about their health.
It's nice, really nice.

Dave,
Glad to hear things have worked out for you. Keeping at it, and motivated is what most people seem to lack....or do the yo-yo thing....a couple months on....a couple months off.

I'm always trying to do the opposite of lose weight.
