change the turbo and see if it changes. your wheel will not always be coverd in oil.

After talking to a few people... Dave and Doug...

I'm pretty sure its just the turbo. I'll get it swapped tomorrow. back to a hairdryer.

Mine idled at -20 or -21

-17 indicates you have a bit of a leak somewhere, or really high idle

Hmm... Well dave and andy's idle at about 17-19...

Eh, probably just depends on the car, and where your idle is... I do keep the idle a tad high, about 900rpm

Mine idles between -18 and -19. Factory idle is supposed to be -19 with all accessories off and a fully warmed engine.

Tomorrow, hopefully it will be running fine, and we'll see where mine idles, I havent really paid attention, I just know its more than 15 so I'm good lol

Still working on it.

Maybe I was thinking of ur old motor... anyways I checked Daves a few days back and his is at 19...

But my car... well... i lets just say I had to take a day off from it because I was getting pissed.

Did some work today. Tightened the Turbo bolts more. Completely redid the Injector seals. All seems to be well. Tomorrow I'm gonna change the oil and I think it will be all good. I did have time today so its still in the shop.

Alrighty, well, I think shes done.

After everything yesterday, then an oil change and let it run for awhile I think it's finally burnt off all the crap and seems to be running well.

Yay for no smoke lol

Oh, and the oil had quite a bit of gas in it, but its firing on all cylinders so I'm pretty darned sure the rings are fine. Thank god.

Well I spoke too soon.

On the short 3 mile drive home... what do I get at the stop light? Clouded in white smoke.

Gonna go do more work tomorrow...

As for the vacuum leak... I found it... its very odd... and isnt the only issue...

Its the line that goes to my bpv from the intake manifold... Its sucking air someway through the BPV... When I pinched the line to close it off.. The engines rpms dropped and then stumbled and almost died... What the fuck???

Sounds like PCV may be the problem after all.

Its not the PCV. I redid it using ej25d diagrams and its fine.

Bypass Valve was broken... replaced it with a good one. So thats fine.

Dave looked everything over, no gas in the oil, but he redid the Injectors just in case and its still smoking. He looked everything else over, did a compression check, checked coolant, checked spark plugs.

Spark plugs looked white, like almost lean running, but it had been idling so that wasnt too abnormal...

He thinks its either the turbo or the block...

So I'm on the hunt for a vfXX turbo that I can put on for a day to see if that fixes the smoke.

BTW the compression check results...

Dave says its not too concerning because its a new motor thats still being broke in...

But Andrew is bothered by it...
