Car was stolen last night.

I'm thinking of putting a removable steering wheel as well as some trickery built into the Tigershark. Though I don't know where someone would hide such a conspicuous vehicle. What about some kind of tracker you can use in a manner similar to Lojack, but cheap using a bug from a spy shop?

Or there's always the South African anti-car jacking flame throwers hooked up as an anti-theft device.

I thought about getting another cell phone (whopping $10 a month) and hardwiring a charger into the car so it just stays on in the car hidden within the dash or something. Then that should be able to be tracked.

Only to a local tower and the police aren't going to devote the resources to locating it as they would a kidnap victim. You'll need to be able to track it yourself.

Many carriers offer cell phone tracking services in the hopes of selling them to paranoid parents looking to track thier teenagers. For a few dollars a month you can go to a website and see exactly where your teen is.....or so the advertizing says. The pones themselves are usually GPS recieves accurate to a few dozen feet, depending on signal strength.

Why go to all that trouble just to turn the info over to the worthless ineffective police? It would be more useful to the owner, I would think.

When I did audio stuff in LA, we wired in the LoJack. Problem was they used an AUX battery that always went bad eventually, then caused a drain on the system and was terribly unreliable.

Along with that system, were 2x 140db peizos inside the car, but in a Porsche, or any car for that matter, you only have to be inside for a second before you can reach in and pop the hood to cut the battery, and again, the backup batteries were problematic.

So we put more peizeos under the bonnet near the battery. The car was so friggin loud when it went off.

I think we got them from speaker city, or maybe grainger. Dont remember. But they were so loud you couldnt stand to be 4 or 5 ft from them for more than 3 seconds.

I'm planning my next alarm now..

epicfail, because only the police would track a standard cell. Didn't know about the kid tracker for all the people who live in fear. Should have figured. I have a phone that doesn't break if dropped and hate kids, so that stuff is well outside anything I'd care about. I'm more concerned with not being tracked, not that it's hard to find me when I'm probably only at the coffee shop or in my living room.

Just remember, every time you get into your car those nozzles are pointed at you!

One mechanical, electrical or mental malfunction and you are going to get seriously pissed at yourself

This is the problem with any booby trap. IMO. Although that South African Incinerator thingy sounds pretty hot!

Exactly, that's why the smoke was a good idea. Can't see shit so you won't be able to steal anything, let alone drive the vehicle. I doubt you're going to stick around with that kind of scene going on either.

Combine that with a traditional alarm and I'm willing to be any thief would be gettin out of there real quick.

Okay okay...

So heres what I've grasped for the ulitimate most epically effective alarm. It has teh following components...

1) Cell phone with parent tracker so you can track down you're OWN car and beat the ever loving shit out of the f*cker.

2) Under seat mounted ass raper. Shoves something up the perps ass when you press the little button on your remote control. Highly effective when the "rod" is metal and its wired to component number 3.

3) Either a Magnavolt setup or the Tomorrow Never Dies James Bond electicuting sheild around the outside.

4) Pissed off trunk monkey

Number 2 is questionable as it can attack you if you have some "funny" friends.

well thats why you have a metal plate that slides in the lower part of your seat. You slide it in when you are driving or in the car to prevent accidental deployment.
