That's a huge intercooler! I wonder how the airflow restriction from the bumper is affecting it. It looks like only about half of it sees any airflow and with the radiator behind it do you think that other half is just being heat soaked all the time or is there enough turbulence behind the bumper where it's being blocked off to keep heat from transferring from the radiator to the intercooler when the car is moving. It would be interesting to see the difference in performance, if any, of that setup vs a smaller intercooler of the same width but only tall enough to utilize the open area of the bumper. Meh, probably waste of time but I like those sorts of experiments. Looks good though. I love that it's black and stealthy. You've done exactly what I want to do but maybe not so big of an intercooler and I have an NA hood waiting to go on when I switch to FMIC. Good work!

Nicely done. I was thinking of painting my core too, I'm just afraid of the paint chipping, which it probably will. Guess you can just shoot frsh paint over it though, lol. Have you driven the car yet? Any difference in lag/spool?

Kimo, keep in mind that the turbo bumpers have that slot in the actual bumper cover so the top part of the core is getting air too.

Yeah I saw that but the slot is pretty small compared to the area that isn't getting any air. It's probably not much of an issue I'm just curious.

I wouldn't worry too much about paint chipping. Just spray over it lol.

I didnt want that big of a core, but for the price. what the hell lol but if i had to choose it would be smaller, everything would have fit much better

If you do make sure you run low boost. People say they're running fine but I doubt they really are. They just don't have the proper fuel maps for that much larger of a turbo or really any larger turbo.

its a little rich so id say with stock injectors at about 9psi you should be safe but you should always have a wideband when modding this far

Nice update. The drop looks heealthy. Did you happen to measure before and after to note the difference? Are the springs for a WRX too? Did you need to mod anything to fit besides swapping top hats?

I just installed my AEM wideband, $165 shipped, and it works awesome. Its definitely reassuring to know im running too rich, rather then lean. Im also running 10:1 @ WOT.

Your rims look almost as bad as mine when i got my car. A little sanding with some fine grit and some high temp ceramic engine enamel will clear those bad boys up and keep them looking good for a while.

This was with the WRX top hats, I think 1991 the fronts bolt in. When I do the rear I think I have to swap the top hats. These are also the 2002-2007 WRX tein springs. Over all just with the fronts done I have notices a difference, I think if I didd the rears and add new sway bars it would be brand new.
For the wheels that's about the worst one, I find so many WrX oem wheels for dirt cheap but they always come while I'm broke!
Here's a shot from a while back from stock suspension

I really need to buy a boost gauge and AFR, but everytime I want to something comes up. I have to refund a member on here because his package never showed up, so I'm going to be set back maybe a month before I can get my gauges. Once I do that I can pay ROB for my tune and then it's time to swap the turbo in!
