But seriously, the black color on my old 91 was gorgeous. It had a metallic fleck that made it a deep mocha in direct sunlight. Too bad the paint onmine was in good shape. Kleinkid has the same color and his is just stunning.

Damn that rio red is beautiful, I might have to re-paint over the coolest color ever to make mine red, if I ever get off my ass and paint the old "pickle" (my daughter named my car that)

Ha ha. My 1st SS was Ruby Pearl which looked real nice in the sunlight. I'm with you that Rio Red is a great color, I think 2nd gen Legacy GT's had the same or similar color.

Saturday the 18th in South Everett near Bothell Everett Highway about 6PM.
Ha, I owned this car a couple years back. It was mint with only 130k miles aside from the paint peeling. Factory 92 SS 5-speed, 100% bone stock. It drove really nicely. I think I sold it for around $3000 at the time.

Rio Red was indeed on second gen GTs from 97-99 as well. I wanted one really badly before I got my green car, but the red is fragile (easily peels and fades with improper care) and incredibly rare on 5-speed second gens.

I also owned Kelly's Radio Flyer 91 SS for a couple months, it was Rio Red as well. Only '91 Legacy Turbo sedans came in Rio Red, it wasn't available 92-94.

90 and 91 apparently, so preface lift, but not postface lift. I'm being a pedant lol.

No turbos in 1990. But yes, Rio Red was in both years if you wanted to be pedantic. Hah.

Rio Red also went through 2000. The third gen GT wagon in 5mt with Rio Red paint was my next bucket list Subaru until I picked up the 05 wagon.

AHH that's what you meant. I'm amazed that you recognized that that was your old car. What gave it away? Just the paint?

Easy. I'll start simple and narrow it down:
1. It's a winestone sedan.
2. Stock including exhaust and wheels. Pretty rare nowadays.
3. Obviously a 92 because the turn signals are clear instead of orange.
4. Paint peeling on rear spoiler and upper window trim matches the pattern of peeling in pictures I took when I owned it.
5. The piece de resistance: In 92 the rear quarter window trim has a chrome strip on the bottom. I replaced the window and trim with pieces from a junkyard 94, so it is lacking the chrome strip. Easily visible in the picture you took.

On 8.11.16 I saw a post-facelift White SS.
We waved and drove right past each other on MLK Way in Seattle, Beacon Hill area.

First time spotting another SS/TW since I got mine put together 8)

That's a pretty interesting second gen headlight swap. I'm betting the bug deflector is there to hide/make things look better.

Almost sounds like me... I don't have LED headlights though or a hood scoop tho. Cool to hear that there are more Legacys in Snohomish.

You have the big front mount? I was in my black Impreza. By the way that whiteline ball joint/ tie rod kit is nice. It feels a bit more responsive being that it's designed for lowered vehicles.

Yes I do, I call it a "fry" mount. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on those whiteline parts, but first have to buy new tires...
