Octane Levels

Here in Canada The highest octane you will find is 94 that is at a Sunoco. Next highest you will find is at any other gas bar at 92 octane, last in line would be filling up at a Canadian Tire Gas Bar; the highest they serve is a 91 octane.

hmmm....that's weird.....wonder why they've crapped down the octane ratings in certain places. I can get 92 here in Houston anywhere......I'm sure I can find 93 somewhere....and I know some places in the north east even had 94.
Wonder what gives.....

I would have to add the fact that we, as Americans,
only get ~91 octane fuel out of the pump. Therefore
the engines that we get over here are significantly
detuned to deal with a lower grade fuel. In
California, we used to be able to get 92 as supreme.
Now it's all 91, along with Colorado, which is where I
spent the last five years. So I would have to say we
definitely get 'detuned' motors over here.
