Drool... I could really use that machine for one of my research projects. It'd be even better with more memory, though. I wish my school would pony up that kind of money.

Its a long story. It was purchased for some oracle issues but in the end the problem wasnt speed or hardware, but rather configuration. We now have a considerably faster machine so this one isnt being used.

Unfortunatly I dont think it will sell. Too many other machines on ebay of the same class. The other machines are stripped but bidders wont look at that, they will try for the lowest price unit.

And to think, my home system is a mere dual 2.0GHz Xeon with 1GB RDRAM...i feel so pathetic

We recently ordered a system that had 4 xeon and 6 gig of redundant ram. Two 256 meg array controllers each with 6 15k rpm 72 gig drive. Very fast for the intel platform
