Molding peeling problems??

I have noticed on alot of legacy's that the top molding to the door if u peel it away it looks chrome i was wondering if anyone else was having problems with it and what it's exactly called and where i could get a new one cause i'm tired of the chromie look on the top of the doors,,,
i do know that its a plastic type of peeling i also noticed mostly on 91's but on some later models too
