Some war damage, not bad though.

Picked her up with 82k miles down in Cali, and drove her up. Got an awesome price. One previous owner that didn't drive her hard. Newly rebuilt turbo and brand new clutch. White with grey interior. Zero rust, very clean.

Enjoying the stockness.... for now.

Will have more pics later.

This was my last car, it was a turd. Great styling but the the turbo legacy is way funner.

Hey, nice car! Very similar to mine..... :D
I'm positive I have seen you around, we should meet up sometime!
I live on 7th between 42nd and 43rd. From the pics looks like you live pretty close by.
Tell me if my detective work is right.....
1st pic - by gasworks?
2nd pic - behind the apartment on 42nd.

 That's me :D . Wow you're really close.

I was doing laundry down by the kidd valley by u village a couple days before I left to pick it up and I saw a white turbo sedan go by. I was stoked. That must have been you.

The first pic is actually just west of the fremont bridge, down on the road by the water ofcourse.

The corrado pics were taken at the old navy facility by magnuson park, in case you were wondering.

We should hang out, for sure.

Very clean. What didn't you like about your VW? I think it's funny because my friend is a VW buff and just bought one of those with the G60.

This is one of the things I miss about bein in seattle or up in the north east. Having subie owners around......

Sure there's a few down here......but not too many....just not the same.

I'll bet I know. My friend is a VW buff as well, he has an 88 Scirocco and he just got done swapping cranks in it. He spun a rod bearing I guess and he had another motor laying around, so he's spent the last month doing that. His friend with a G60 Corrado actually threw his rod (didn't damage block, lucky him) and his other friend's built Jetta is makin yucky knocking noises. So it must be a VW thing. They're all looking at other German makes right now (no they won't buy Subarus, I already tried)

Oh yeah, almost forgot, FG, very nice :D

The VW's reliablility was killing me. It just didn't make a good daily driver. I don't mind fixing stuff, but when you fix stuff then two weeks later it breaks again it gets on my nerves. Plus alot of the stuff that broke was body mechanical (handles and stuff) and electrical--which I hate to work on. Plus the very costly tranny blew up on me. I spent over 4k just in parts in two years.

I barely even notice the straight line performance difference. The subby puts me back in the seat, I'm happy.

The subby is sprung softer, but the IRS and AWD more than make up for it. I think the ultimate grip on the Corrado was more but the Legacy transitions alot better. Even though I put a LSD in the Corrado, it couldn't match the soob's ability to hold the pavent on wet roads, which we have a lot of.

The Corrado got way too much attention dorky doods on the streets. I've noticed alot more ladies checking out my car. Totally under the radar for Cops.

I felt like I had to baby the Corrado for some reason. I never took it over the passes. I haven't been snowboarding since I got the Corrado.

Thank you for the compliments :D

It is kind of wierd. I don't remember there being any changes of the body style from 92-93, anybody else? I guess I'm wrong........:?:
Alan also has a different interior then I have ever seen.
He has the 91 looking steering wheel, and a different interior.
His seats have leather on the bolsters all around, but not in the middle. Anyone else ever seen this?

Actually.....it looks like a standard bumper cover from a n/a 92-94 legacy.

The turbo ones had a spot for driving lights. Yours doesn't seem to have that.

If you mean the fake leather stuff on the sides, then my 91's seats have that.

What a strange vehicle, did you guys notice he doesnt have "TRAY" but he has the different style temp gauge marks? Looks to be a sort of half breed!

Posted: Thu May 08, 2003 1:41 pm
by Legacy777
yeah.....Alan.....I think you have a half breed or some modifications done.

Like ciper said....there's no "tray" your bumper is from a n/a legacy....wonder if there is anything else.

BTW.....I like how both of you are in seattle and neither have washington plates

I'm no better though.....I haven't lived in seattle permanantly since 97......yet I still have WA plates. I'll be switchin over this summer most likely though.

I just noticed also, the center vents are different lookin than 91 too, other than that the interior is exactly like my 91.
