Wimpy Knock Sensor

I have been plagued with a myriad of engine codes lately. Code 22 Knock sensor, Code 32 O2 sensor, Code 45 & Code 49. iA mechanic whom I kinda trust told me that the 92 (and previous?) USA turbo Legacy had a service bulletin about the knock sensor not being adequately robust and eventually becoming way too sensitive. The evil ones had a gray plug, while the more robust ones had a white plug.

Also, I have learned that O2 sensors have a small amount of controlled leakage and that water getting into that hole (such as via a functional air scoop) can temporarily trigger a check engine light. Mine now wears a little hat. We'll see.

92 Legacy Turbo Sedan 5-speed with a few modest street modifications.

ps Was driving a rental Dodge Intrepid last night cruising about 100mph for 300 miles. Hit a laser trap. 92mph in a 70mph zone. $167 US, which I think is an excellent value for 92mph. Washington State Trooper was not impressed by my four-wheel lockup response.

Great Bill! it isn't very often a person comes across a value like
that. I also have noticed that these troopers really do not have a
sense of humor at all, a pretty unpleasant group. I Had to go West of
Denver the other day on I70 and there is a long uphill grade up the
canyon where there isn't a place for them to sit and trap anyone for
at least 20 miles. I fell into the pack and was well over 100 and got
a few strange looks from the fellow racers as The little Impreza
accelerated past several factory "hotrods", had a blast.
