Hesitant Starting

I am having an intermitant non-starting problem.
Starting about 2 weeks ago when I go to start the car (turning the key) there is a "click" from the solenoid, then nothing.
Eventually by doing this 3 or 4 times it does start, but I'm wondering if something is starting to go.

I have checked the switch at the clutch pedal and it checks out ok.
I'm wondering if this is a problem with other connections on the starting system or is the solenoid going?

Thanks in advance.

starter solenoid contacts.

read my post on the USMB. It's a little long. Towards the end, I actually get into what the problem is.

they're in the starter, so you'll have to remove it. Make sure you get the right thing, or you'll take the brushes off the motor.....I did that ;)

Found the solenoid top connector full of "crap" (oil/sludge/dirt). Cleaned it up and the problem is gone.
Thanks for the suggestion Josh.

While cleaning that I leaned on the turbo hose off the small black filler tank and broke that off. The plastic nipple was all brittle. No wreckers have another tank and the local dealer wanted $130 CDN for a new one.
So ... for $2 CDN I bought a brass plumbing hose nipple connector, drilled out the hole in the plastic tank, screwed in the connector with epoxy for extra good measure and ... THERE SHE IS .... running as good as new.
