Hello all...
Another stupid micum question, comin at ya!
I'm pokin around in my car...and see this 02 sensor like thing, with wires clipped. I think it was either at the bottom of the turbo up pipe, or right next to it at the end of the exhaust manifold. I can't remember (man do I feel stupid) if I have wrx or legacy turbo exhaust manifold on the car. Anyways, I have a 02 sensor on the cat in the downpipe, but I assume I have two. I havn't really been under the car all the way in so very long...I know there is a 2nd cat downstream, is the second 02 sensor there? Does anyone have any idea what the bung and sensor at the uppipe/manifold meeting area is? Do stock legacy turbo's have an EGT sensor like the new age wrx? I know I sound crazy and stupid, but I bought my car from the guy who did the engine swap, so my knowledge is limited, and this is my first turbo suby...I also have had the car in storage for a year and a half or so, and only had it for like 6 months before then. I just got it out and running, and finally have the money, time and will to get this car fixed up and beatiful, it will live up to its potention, this I swear!!!

hey micum whats goin on in that mcdonaldsless town? u should have only one o2 sensor..the one in the downpipe right after the flange. whoever had the car before you might have used a different year model part and just left one in the exhaust unconnected. you would know if the one in the downpipe was not connected, as you would be gettng check engine light. gotsa pic of it and location?

Sweet! This was what I had thought was the case, just needed to make sure. Its a early (94) wrx exhaust manifold on my car, and that must be either an 02 sensor or EGT. Perhaps I could use it to install an EGT sensor and gauge. Where in Vermont are you? Going to the stratton hill climb? Lots of subees will be there I hear, including a impreza 22B! Ok...sorta, legacy turbo bottom end, some quad cam 16 valve top, maybe from a 2.5, and carbon fiber widebody kit all on a 2.5rs. Pretty cool.

well i would be surprised if its an early wrx exhaust unless someone got one from england or aussieland. chances are someone lifted an rs exhaust. i put an 02 rex system on my sons lsi wagon and we just plugged the downstream sensor hole. dont want any inspector seeing o2 sensor wires hanging down unconnected they are way too anal in this state, wait no...i have to remember towatch how i say that since this is vt.......ya know real vermontas dont pack s***t they spread it, and plenty of it around here now, is that hill climb at stratton or at ascutney? cuz i know guys have been talking about one on the nasoic new england forum that will be at ascutney this weekend i think. either way just hope its not raining my feet are starting to web. i am not that far from stratton so it might be in the realm of possibilties to go but with 3 kids we go in many directions....often!

I thought it was stratton, but you must be right, ascutney...I always confuse those massach...I mean southern vermont places. My exhaust manifold came with the engine, its a JDM wrx engine, so I really doubt it would have come with a US spec RS manifold. Yeh...all this rain sucks. Remember, when it comes to real vermonters, just cause a cat has kittens in the oven, doesn't make em muffins! hehehe
