WRX sti version for the U.S.?

Has anyone heard about the production of the WRX sti? September's
issue of Motor Trend had a short excerpt of the competition between
the Lancer Evo VIII to be released in the U.S. and the 6-speed
version of the WRX. The article said it's supposed to appear in
January at the Detroit auto show. Seems like a lot of interest is
being placed on the WRX, I wonder about the Legacies future and if
the turbo is still in the mix? The current issue of Subaru's mag
Drive didn't mention a thing about the WRX sti.
