Hey All,

Anyone know how much boost the stock EJ22T Turbo is capale of putting
out? Also I hear the stock fuel system isn't good enogh for high boost
applications. Anyone have more info on this and how to remedy it?

Are you talkin in modified form or stock?

Rod Grosvner is building an EJ22T block that will be able to run peak boosts of 30 psi.

Fuel system....unless you're goin nutty with boost, the stock system should be ok.

The stock setup I believe puts out around 8.6 psi.....or something around there

30?!? sheesh! why doesn't he just make it able to beat the F-14 and the Viper on Ripley's Believe It or Not?

The stock IHI turbo on the EJ22t will put out a lot of boost but
seeing that it is a fairly small turbo when you get to about 14-15
lbs the charge temperature climbs very quickly and will contribute to
detonation. AL(CO)

It should turn into an F-14 by the time full boost comes on.

what are the engine differences between a turbo legacy
and a N/A? basically, is a turbo a N/A with a
different manifolds, exhaust and running on prem gas?
or are there major internal modifications, ie
compression ratio change?

That depends on which part of the world you're in. But no they are not the same thing. All of the world except USA turbos are EJ20 quad cam turbo where US has a bigger engine but single cams and no intercooler.

Yes there are internal differences. The EJ22T is built for being turbo'd. It is closed deck, has oil splashers to splash oil on the bottom side of the pistons to aid in cooling. There are a couple more things here and there.....which I don't remember....but ya the turbo legacy has a different motor.....
