Just tried all my way to improve the brake padel feeling but still feeling soft after putting SS line, Motul 600 brake oil, best rotor front and rear, upgraded pads also replaced the new power brake vaccum line.
I think its the last parts I have to replace to improve the brake system!!
Does anyone know that the singal stage brake booster worth to replace it?
Where can I find one for 92 Legacy turbo?
Any other year/model Subaru will do the swap?
Or any other method to do the improvement?
Really sad about the soft padel feeling.

I've heard mixed impressions on the single stage booster.

I've heard it's quite a pain in the arse to replace too.

If you want to replace it, you can get one from a 94 impreza L

I haven't done the swap myself, but I have removed the master cylinder and brake booster from an Impreza before and it didn't seem to me to be quite as hard as people can make it out to be... If you relieve fuel pressure and remove the fuel filter you can get some more room.

I am planning to change my brake booster but haven't gotten around to it. I really do dislike the mushy feel; I remember my old Impreza L's brake pedal feeling firmer and I'd like to go back to that feel.

Josh, where have you heard anything other than praise about the single stage booster? The only complaints I've heard were about the difficulty of installation or that the 15/16" master cylinder was too small (which doesn't apply to us since our stock cylinders will work).

Another options is just a new master cylinder. The guy that owned my car before said he did this on his Subaru wagon and it made a huge difference. The stock unit might just be tired...

If you want to do yours relatively soon.......if it does make a dramatic improvement, I'll put one on, when I put my new MC on.

When I drive my turbo a lot and then switch to my NA, I nearly break my neck at the first couple stops. I'd like the break pedal to be as stiff on the turbo. I just thought it was because of the ABS.

I'm pretty sure all Legacies have dual stage boosters, even the naturally aspirated non-ABS models. Your mushier pedal may be due to other things, like tired fluid, small leaks (of vacuum or of brake fluid), air bubbles, rotors that have been machined too many times, et cetera et cetera.

So, isn't that the 94 Impreza L has the single stage booster that could fits on our car?
If not where can I find one for our car?

Yes the 94 impreza L had the single stage booster, and yes they will fit on our cars.
