whats a good sign of a need to change strut top mounts? when load changes in a corner, or going over a bump, i get a clunk in a few corners...i thought it might have been the sway bars... they are tight, bushings ok.. i put in KYB AGX about a year ago... car now has 160 K on it... how do i test them?

If you hear a "thump" when going over any rough spots it's a definate
sign that your top mounts are gone and should be replaced.

or that the struts themselves are bad, or starting to go, or that the center
bolt is loosening, something that is very common with KYB's.

I have heard thease are a must for car that has had a shock upgrade , stiffer and all that ,the originals are like jellow

so i guess its almost unanimous.... new strut top mounts...

do they make STi ones for the 91 legacy sport sedan? i know the conical springs make things annoying... what about the mounts?

Yes they do....we ahve more arriving end of the month, price is $180/set of 4, and are correct for the tapered rear springs on the Legacy's to '91. '92-'94 have their own mounts availble from STi.

The front mounts should be the same diameter as all the rest. The rears, as you mentioned are different. They do make them for the conical springs.

I have ordered a set f&r from Adam (Z1auto) He had said they should be in any day......It's been a long wait.....2+ month......however I guess that's normal for us that want parts from overseas.....
