Are the guage clusters for the turbo 91 turbo and non turbo identical? I'm looking at putting some white guage faces in but they only have them for the non turbo. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure they're identical.

Yup, Identical. only overseas spec cars had different clusters.

however the clusters are different between the 90-91 cars and the 92-94 cars.

I think I am probably going to get these...cheesy I know...but I gots to do something about my guages. Maybe I could let myself get away with a conversion to red backlighting, either normal or LED...if it looked nice, I'd probably like it better, as I actually don't really care for white gauges. If you know of any other types out there, please post them! Oh yeah, the type I posted are available much cheaper on ebay I believe.
Oh yeah...I remember there being a difference between the 90-91 and 92-94 legacy gauge clusters...but I can't remember what. I know that I saw a stainless or aluminium bezel for the later ones but not for the earlier ones, but then this cover setup I posted claims to be good for both. Unfortunately, its set up for the auto, having a cutout for the gear indicator, no good for us manual types! Can anyone elaborate on the differences?
Thanks
Micum

Actually alot of differences exist between all years, and even mid years. They dont matter usually but for example:
Red mark/red hashes/white hashes for temp
Color changing gear indicator for manual mode
Sunroof indicator
Fuel gauge markings

What's the sunroof indicator do?

Tells you when the sunroof is open, just like the door indicators.
For the "best" one you have seven seperate lights on the little car icon at the top.

Hehe, Ciper and I just figured that one out a few weeks ago. I noticed it in his car on the way to the JY and commented on how mine doesn't have it.

I'm fairly certain they all go to 140.
Also, i have installed the gauges, picked em up off eBay. They look pretty good.. I'm still adjusting to them.

You should check out the Sunroof thread for more information on the sunroof and the little metal guide thingies. There's a ton of info in that thread.

i know at some point they went back to 120 in legacy's and outbacks.my forester is only to 120.question,I've seen some instument clusters on ebay but they are all for auto's.has any one ever seen any after market clusters for the manual?

I suspect if you want a manual cluster, you are going to just have to put up with a blank spot where the auto gear indicator is. I don't think I'd like it in a brushed aluminium kit but in the reverse indiglo kit I'm thinking I could live with, or paint white below it so it might not show!

I'd be interested in seeing some day and night pics with the white gauges. I've thought about getting them a few times because I'm not a huge fan of the stock green lights. If anyone has these and takes some pics let me know or post them!
