we got everything disconnected, and the chains hooked up, and the trannie seperates from the engine about 1 inch, then gets stuck.... We have a hunch that it might have to do with the clutch release arm. also.... the actuator arm gets unmovable unless we rejoin the motor and trannie....

Do I have to totally remove the arm to get the trannie seperated from the engine?

Its not coming apart!!!!!

HELP!!!

Their is an plug with a allen hex to remove it right over the end of the clutch arm pivot.Take this off then thread a 6mm screw into the clutch arm pivot rod to pull it out.On pull type clutches like the turbo legacy has,The throwout bearing kind of clips into the pressure plate.Good luck, BillC

Oh yea, look for a 10mm plug horizontally near where the starter was. That plug covers the cross shaft for clutch arm. You need to remove that cross shaft.

Hay Mark, do you know there are any sources you could get the engine
wiring harness for the EJ20T?
I would like to get one for my car since I still using the US ECU
(EJ22T) for my EJ20T!
Please let me know!

You may want to unbolt the tranny and lift it slightly out of the way
to give you more "wiggle room". This will allow for the engine to
slide into the crossmember mounting holes. Then dont tighten the
mount nuts, and reconnect the tranny...and so on
hope this helps

You know what... Try Subaru where you are. Apparently the main warehouse had 1 or 2 of the harness for the EJ20T for LHD cars. Otherwise the big problem is that most wiring harnesses that are available are for RHD cars, no good for us. (I tried, doesnt work - too many wires are wrong.)
