HELP!
my 92 BF 2.2, auto has done this a few times now since I got it a
few weeks ago; the accelerator sometimes gets stuck as I'm
starting to back up into my uphill driveway. you could say it
lurches and sticks, then goes back to idle after i brake real hard
(to avoid hitting anything). it got pretty hairy today when I almost
plowed into the garage door. (my pissed-off landlord saw the
event.... ugh!)

throttle likage and springs are clean and well-lubed, and the acc.
cable does not appear frayed.

anyone, anyone....

Change the oil. If that does not work it could be your clutch pack of it is simply not picking the selected gear.

i don't think it's an oil or gear selection problem. Clutch pack... huh?

with the engine shutdown does the accelerator pedal, cable and throttle control all move very freely and smoothly, ie when slowly pushing the pedal by hand is it smootly and not binding?

My girlfriends 94 wagon has a slipping problem when the steering wheel is at full lock either direction forward or reverse. There is also a slight vibration. When my car was in getting first gear replaced I asked about the problem. They said change the oil and if it is still there its the clutch pack. Have not yet changed the oil but will do so in the next couple of weeks. i'm waiting on my tools to come back from insurance. Was broken into during xmas break. You don't relise how much you use them until there gone.

Yep, it moves freely and is not bound. Almost backed into a car in a parking lot today. Good thing the brakes work!
