Hehehe...
I think he's probably just caught up in doing his turbo swap. Hopefully he's okay.
Does anyone here know him in real life? It'd be cool to check up on him... Let him know we miss him. :)

I've wondered the same thing, as he once said he has an extra 1.5 DIN pocket laying around that I'd like to have
Eastbaysubaru knows him, maybe he'll chime in here...
Boostjunkie also seems to be MIA...

I'm here. I just sent him an email as I've been wondering the same thing since I got back from my honeymoon. Yup, just got hitched. That's why I haven't been online for three weeks or so. I'll let you guys know if I hear from him.

Aww shucks. Thanks guys. It's been a long time coming though, as we've been going out for 7 years

. It's good to be official though and it finally feels like we can move onto the next step. I still haven't heard from Ciper though. I'll keep you guys up to date if/when I hear from him.

I don't know. As long as this board has been around I've seen ciper on here. He was even a poster on the yahoo newsgroup or whatever they are called. I'd be worried, but yeah...hopefully he's alright.

I talked with him a few days ago. Sorry I didn't post. He's knee deep in Project Legacy turbo wagon. I'm sure he'll be back sometime soon. It'll be worth the wait, trust me:D

I was surprised to see that anyone cared I was missing!
I was busy before leaving the board, have you ever heard of the straw that broke the camels back?
I got pretty pissed off at some of the board members. Do you guys remember the discussion on fake 17 inch hub caps with fake drilled rotors? I havnt forgotten and it still bothers me that some people will act differently (fake) depending on the situation. It felt as if I was betrayed and the board was going downhill. I didnt come here to get thumbs up form everyone no matter what I did and I dont expect them to be given out that way either. I tried really hard to censor myself then I realized there was no point in arguing.
Ill try to catch up on whats been happening and post my progress, alot of stuff happened while I was gone. I realized in my absense that the board is very usefull. Actually I have to say its near necessary. The amount of research Ive done would have been lessened quite a bit with the board members help.

ciper, it's a little weird to hear you say you got pissed off at other board members... I feel like you're the one who usually encourages others not to take offense, since people seem to be easily offended by the way you tend to put stuff. :)
Try not to take too much offense... People always act differently in different situations. That's what being an adaptive human being's all about. I'm not trying to say your feelings are wrong, but I don't think you should feel betrayed. As you well put it, you can't expect agreement and praise from everyone else all the time. We make our statements and move on.
I agree that the nature of the BBS has been changing as it's been growing, but I also agree that this board is still very useful. And it's still got the best technical content and highest signal-to-noise ratio of any automotive board I've been on.
I'm personally glad you're back, ciper. You were responsible for much of the information that was made available through this board. And your occasional extreme bluntness is sometimes needed. I'm also really excited about your turbo wagon project. :) Welcome back.

I remember that thread very well and understand how one members comments may have upset you. I don't understand though why you were pissed and felt betrayed by "members" plural. I took part in that thread and certainly hope I'm not one of the members you speak of.
Either way it's good to have you back, your presence and knowledge were missed. It would have been a shame for one stupid thread to cause you to leave such a great community of Subaru enthusiasts behind.

I dont remember exactly who it was and I dont plan to look back at the thread. It seemed like some people had tried to backpeddle when I pointed out we would all be laughing at them if it was posted in another fashion. I still think fake 17s that are also fake drilled roters are the ultimate lame/funny rice product.

After reviewing the thread, I really do think mrkingers overreacted. Ciper did diss the fake bling, but he offered several other ways to make the car look better than those hideous things for less than $60 and said he didn't intend on making anyone angry... Keep in mind, he
does have the right to express his opinion just as anyone else here does, he just does it more effectively than the rest of us
I agree they're absolutely horrible, and I place them in my list of three instant rice-ifications: 1) Altezza lights 2) Windshield washer lights 3) Oversized wheel covers... I don't car how otherwise stock your car is, or how much HP or handling it has. If it has one of these three items, it's rice, automatically
