my rs is doin wierd boost stutter

hi all,im new on here....
anyway i have a 89 legacy rs....
whenever i boost it the engine stutters and farts around,i have no idea whats causing this....the coils have been tested,iv checked all the vac lines etc....its only got a K&N and a big bore from the cat back....

any suggestions why this is happening?

also my engine check light comes on quite abit,usually when i slow down,then it stutters again...but sometimes it boosts up no problem.....

im confused now...

could it be the air flow meter?

Have you checked your codes? That might give you a lead to what is going on.

wholy moly pudding and pie,i have a nackered number 1 injector.i can get 2 injectors with rail ect for $50nz so im stoked...pick them up tomorrow... :P


i love this site...i wouldve had to pay some fob mega bucks to diagnose it then charge me for the injectors and labour....

So you got a code 14?

It's usually standard procedure when you pull check engine light codes to clear the codes and then see if they come back. It is possible to get spurious codes that aren't really indicative of the cause of your engine's problems.

Also you want to make sure that's not an old code stored in the ecu. Clear it out by unplugging the batt or a fuse(not sure which one though). If it shows up again then it's a problem.

yeah i tried that first...then it showed up again so i got the code....
the symptoms do sound like a injector problem......
