Whiteline Steering rack bushings

I put these on this weekend.....while they were not a cake walk, they were easier then the sti engine mounts.

The bushing on the driver's side that handles the thrust load was the biggest pain. The bracket was a pain to get out. I had to bend some of the lines slightly. I used some pb blaster to lube the old bushing up to get it out. Once out I wrestled the new one in. The passenger side bushing actually had some fitment issues. The bushing was not as wide as the bracket. I initially didn't have it fit right....so it didn't bolt up properly. I re-fitted so it was set properly. I then slowly tightened down the bracket.

Initial results....I don't really notice a difference. I'll need to drive on the highway to tell.

After taking a quick trip on the highway and driving around a bit, they do seem to help. Response is definitely better. It's not earth shattering, but it's better.

You really shouldnt notice JUST replacing the steering rack bushes, if you replace ALL of the bushes thouhg it will feel like a different car, did it to a golf of mine recently and the difference was amazing. Id got so used to steering twice to do every corner that i nearly steered the wee bugger off the road first time I thrashed it. Just make sure if you do swap em all that you tighten all the nuts and bolts up properly though (surprisingly difficult to know when youv got it right lol).
