I'm planning on changing the center diff (visco) cuz mine jam / locks after 5-10min of highway.

My question is simple : Can you check into the Manual to see if i need to put oil in there, and if so, what kind ! :)

thanx !

the center diff is a sealed unit, you can't service it.

that's the thing i'm talking about... apparently, this is in a case bolted to the back of the tranny (that's where it comes from)

FSM doesn't say anything about oil or anything. There's some needle bearings in there. I'd probably add some grease in there, since you're disassembling. You'll probably want to change the trans oil after 100 some miles of putting a new unit in.

I'm still in the process of changing it , it's a quite simple process, but there is a lot of "You must know that little detail or you'll be fu****" ...

will post a little "howto" with pics soon :)

A How To would be awesome. It's great to be involved in a community where everyone is down to help out. Can ya feel the love :D

The center diff shares oil with the tranny and front diff..
Its pretty easy to replace.

Mark Ward: It shares the lubricating oil with the transmission, however the LSD fluid is completly sealed and non servicable.

"Another job well done" !

With the right tools, it's a pretty easy job... i had to use a Zip-Gun to remove the "T" from the shifter shaft ... a tool that i didn't have... but a pretty kind friend lended to me.
