My new rally car!

So here's some pictures of my new rally car. I decided not to build my Legacy into a rally car. I figured this way I can still drive the Legacy everyday and beat the crap out of this car. It's a 1984 Dodge Colt GTS Turbo. It's a G5 car and has a history. It was first built back around 1990 and has successfully competed 27 SCCA Club Rally events. Who knows how many other non-SCCA events it has completed though. It was piloted by Mick Kilpatrick and Jim Gilaspy most of the time, and was the champion car in it's division for Club Rally in 1997 and 1998. Jim and Mick are currently leading the same division in their G5 RX7. I can't wait to race against them in their old car!

I've been working on getting all the stickers off so that I can get the car painted.

The cage is severly out of date and I am having a new cage put in it around Christmas. It's being put in by probably one of the best rally car prep guys on the west coast, Brian Moody. He's the guy who took sixth in Pike's Peak in his Audi S2 last year. He's had three guys have really hard crashes in the last two years and his cages saved their lives. The interior is also getting freshened up with some Momo Acropolis seats and some paint
This is under the hood. The second pic is my rendition of the new intake I'm making. The blue scribbles are where I'm going to mount the BOV. To make room for the tube to go this high I am going to mount another hood scoop over it but face it towards the windshield. We estimated about 15-16 inches less pipe and no longer sitting on the exhaust manifold will definetely be a benefit.
