It looks like my H20 pump is leaking. 'm looking at getting my second H2O pump since I bought my Leg. The original blew up and took the engine with it. I had a new one installed on the used engine I replaced it with, and now that one is leaking. My mechanic said the water pump is bad and needs to be replaced. I'm not sure if it was leaking out the "seap hole" that my service manual alludes to. Can the gasket itself go bad. Am I just unlucky, or do others have this problem? I've been giving my friend a hard time about his bimmers H20 pump, plasitc impeller on a 10,000$ engine, almost killed his 92 M5. So maby bad H20 pump Karma

Did you get an OEM pump? The dealer is less than $100 (not that there's a guarantee that won't fail, but it's likely better than the aftermarket parts). I had one go on me a week before it was due to be changed, but it didn't do any damage. I always change them with the timing belt.

Leaking into timing belt cover

I've determined that my leaking water pump, is leaking into my timing belt cover. It's been getting worse, and won't have the 400 bones to fix it for a while. How bad for the timing belt is antifreeze

I don't mind refilling my coolant every few days, but I don't want the "crash course" on what an interference engine is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No crash course needed, you don't have to worry about interference
new OEM water pumps are around $45, and napa sells rebuilt ones for about that too.

You can replace the pump and belt yourself for a little over $100. But, even a mechanic shouldn't get you for more than $300.

You can probably have it done in about 3-4 hrs if you have everything you need right next to you that you need and nothing breaks on you. I did this last week it's not a hard job really.
