well I test drove my car today, no leaks or puffs of smoke from under the hood. I relocated my coolant tank to where the A/C compressor once was.
I did this for future plans of installing my Saab I/C. The neat thing is that the coolant tank actually looks like it "should" be there, Ie stock looking. I'll have pics soon :D

Cool, right on. I'm sure in the long run it's better to move it but just thought I'd let you know that I didn't have to move mine for my Saab install. Eventually I'm going to put in the WRX coolant tank as my oem one is Jimmy rigged at the moment and then I'll be relocating too. :D

You don't have an air conditioner. That won't work for me. :)

I did have AC, but it didn't work when I bought the car, so I removed it. Man that stuff is heavy, removing the compressor and all the AC gear probobly took a good 70 lbs off the car.

Must be nice to live in an area where A/C isn't absolutely necessary :(

What parts were required to move the tank? Did you custom fab a bracket? What material did you use to do so?

This looks like something i'll probably do pretty soon.

Up here we still have alot of days above 30* C with humidity past 90% during the summer. but meh I'll learn to live without it.

mTk: It was pretty simple, just time consuming and I was very careful not to break the nipples on the coolant tank. Although, I still think their stronger then what most people say. Basically I have only one braket, a 3" peice of garage door rail support. You know the glavanized stock you can buy thats about 1.5" wide and has holes pre-punched every inch or so.
I mounted the the tank to the block with that. I thought at first that it wouldn't provide enough support since it was a little wobbly. But as soon as I connected the coolant lines the tank got much stiffer, so I only used the one mounting. The two small coolant lines are a joke. For the two bigger ones I got 90 degree brass elbows and 2 ft of 1/2" ID heater hose and connected it all up.
