Well, rode in Arturo's STi a few weeks ago. Holy bejesus. We just took it down the road from his place to eat, and it wasnt broken in, and was fast as sh!t. Later that night he broke the 1,000 mile barrier, and the following day took it up to almost redline. THANK GOD FOR RACING SEATS! Damn.

He recently dynoed it, on the stock engine, he was getting #'s like 255 hp and 244 ft lbs tq I believe. Gotta love subaru for underrating the hp on those cars...

You guys have 4wd dyno's

I think I have to go to Detroit for the closest one, and I live in Ohio.

Turbo XS has one and they're in Maryland. Not sure which is closer for you though. =) I may call and try to get in next time I'm down that way if it doesn't cost too much. It would be cool to have some solid numbers to build on.

As stated in my "cherry-popping" thread , Michael Schumacher could not drive the car and say it's slow... It's simply unbelieveable... 8)

I want to go for a ride in one sometime, but the Dealer here won't let me take one out for a test drive :(

Coolness, tell him to come back and visit us sometime. I assume that's why he left here?

I think I said something about it in another thread, but I also got to drive one. When I say "drive", I mean "hammer":D My friend who just got one came up for my wedding in Oct. When he pulled up in front of my apartment, it had 1,004 miles on the clock. I got to drive the piss out of it all around the Oakland hills. It is by far the fastest car I've ever ridden in or drove. Absolutely incredible. The grip is amazing, but the excelleration is more unbelievable. The most fun I've had in a car in as long as I can remember. If you have the means, I highly recommend it:D

I was actually amazed at the dyno numbers. I was expecting around 240 HP at the wheels since I'm pretty sure I've got one of the reflashed ECUs (to compensate for early units have issues with detonation on sub-94 octane fuel). Sure enough, with a 15% drivetrain loss, the 255 HP figure is right where I should be. I'm still not sure that 15% is enough loss to compensate for . . . and if it's not, then my crank HP is even higher than 300.

But yes. . . it's a blast to drive, and it still makes me smile every time I mash on the gas and hear that turbine wail.

The dealership I used to work at has a 3 day 100 mile money back guarantee and they've had two come back because they were too fast! That was the excuse given anyhow. Could have just been the wife found out. I can drive one down there anytime I want, but I never have time. They've got three on the lot and are discounting them up to $1000 off MSRP. Feel sorry for the people that paid $8000+ over MSRP when they were first coming out. Then again this is Colorado and a much different market.

MAKE TIME!!!

I have the right to say (as a true Subaru enthusiast and not just some ricer 16-year-old who wants it coz all his friends do  ) that I really want one BAD!!! That torque is addicting as crack!! :D

They're just sitting on the lots here, too, it seems. There's about six that have been blocked in by other cars and haven't moved for about four months. I don't know how it is in other parts of the country, but STIs don't seem to be selling in the affluent north Boston area. Evos either, but I don't think the one Mitsu dealer bought as many, so there's only one that sits for a few weeks at a time. Guess this jobless economic recovery is only benefitting those who buy million dollar junk. Yeah Republicans!

Do I sound bitter and cynical? Oh well. I'll say it while I can before they take away that right in the name of national security. I'm a danger tomyself I need protection.

Around here there's a Subaru dealer right next to a Mitsu dealer, and the STi's seem to be selling but the same two EVOs have been in front of the Mitsu dealer for six monts or so

EVO's aren't DSMs, but yes, Mitsu quality isn't all that great....
