Just curious if anyone has anything good to say about the Justy's, they sort of look like a neat car, and might look into buying one sometime. Any comments good or bad would be greatly excepted...

The ECVT is super cool but breaks too often and costs too much. They are probably the smallest 4wd available in America. They get good gas mileage but are hard to find in good shape.

I had a 88 4wd for a winter beater a couple of years ago. I really liked it. It was almost unstopable in the snow. Like Ciper said, they are hard to find in good shape though.

There was a guy in Colorado that used to rallyX a Justy with an EJ22t swap. It was pretty crazy.

When I was 16, I could have bought 2 of them for $1,000, but they both needed alot of work, but that was also like 10 years ago too.
The main reason I am looking into one is because they get such great mileage, yet still have AWD. I think one would make a great beater car to drive around town when I don't feel like not driving the Legacy...
I sort of figured that finding one in good shape would be hard, but if I look hard enough, I might find one...

GL's are good cars too. My friend has an '89 with 4wd and all the works, power windows, everything. We averaged 31 mpg on the highway doing over 80 most of the way to Boston and back to Ohio. There are a lot of them so you can get almost any combo you want.... 5mt, wagon, carbeurated, fuel-injected... etc.
I know nothing about Justy's, by the way.

Read the first post in
this thread on the USMB, and tell me if Justy's are good cars...
I personally consider any Subaru from our cars and older to be so tough that those in junkyards were probably driven there under their own power... They just won't stop

Once Subaru solved head gasket issues early on, the only thing that stopped 'em was rust and damage.
IIRC the Justy is a reengineered Suzuki. I know the ECVT option was proprietary Subaru, though. A friend of mine had one years ago and it took a pretty good beating.

i desperately want to find a justy to roll around in for the month that my car undergoes her heart transplant. Then take it to Ft Lewis after pulling off all VIN tags and getting it stuck.

That Justy beater story...That's me, you know.
And yes, I did jump it backwards over some railroad tracks while a train was coming. There's something about almost dying that makes any old story better.

I was at a four wheel drive jamboree, where they had a monster truck thing, and in between, they had a run what you brung race on the monster truck course. probably a few dozen trucks ran at least. probably half of them or more broke (driveshafts, etc) or flipped. A little stock appearing 4wd justy drives out on to the course. And totally blows it away! Fastest time of the day! Hell, some work and that thing could have taken the monster trucks! It was so friggin awesome, me and my suby loving friends were cheering are heads off...
