Moonroof saftey feature modification / elimination

Has anyone here tried (or considered trying) to bypass, override, or otherwise rig the switch that closes the moonroof to NOT stop when it is almost closed? I want to be able to just hit the switch once and have it close.
I figured someone around here may have gotten annoyed with it as I have, and maybe someone has a solution.
I'm also thinking of installing a second set of switches for the roof where the strange little useless compartment is by the driver's left knee. I thought it would be nice to have controlls for it there. does anyone see any problems with that idea?
Thanks............-Bosco-

"strange little useless compartment"
You had better take that back. TRAY is the shit!
Wiring the switches should be pretty easy, its only three wires if I remember right. The three buttons are actually just one switch. If you take it apart be careful not to break the tab holding the backing, or you will be screwed.

isn't that a little low for switches? even with my long arms i have to reach for it, I prefere to have all the switches in arms reach, so what about that little square next to the parking brake?

Or the Air Suspension button blank?

Aaah yes, the air suspension blank... If that's the one above the lighter, then that is the winner. I checked it out in the car, and that is by far the most comfortable reach for me.
So, Any Ideas about having to hit the button twice? I guess it's probably a pretty tough thing to work around.

I don't know about that but when you go to wire it up you should see if you can do it like the driver side door, where if you press it itll close and if you press it farther itll close automatically, that'd be cool

I've been meaning to do this modification but I'll have to remove the headliner to get at all the necessary pieces so it'll be a while before I have time. With the stock setup, there's a sunroof control unit up there that I guess handles the safety cutoff thing. Ideally I'd just replace the control unit with one of my own design that would remove the safety cutoff and also incorporate an auto-open and auto-close feature.

My sunroof leaks. So on a rainy day if I am thirsty I just leave a glass sit on the passenger seat and in about a half-hour I've got a nice cool refreshing beverage.
