THE FAMOUS AIR STRUTS QUESTION AGAIN

We have a 1992 Legacy wagon with 4wd which has a bad air strut
symptom is front passenger side deflates on low setting but seems okay on high. I have heard about the changeover idea which is good.
Question is if we spend the money for the Dealer New Air strut
Is this most likely the problem. AND PLEASE Does ANYONE have one of these air struts laying around to unload ?
thanks
AL

On my 91 it also started that way, one then another, then it was dangerous to drive.

If you plan on keeping the car, do the swap to conventional struts and springs, you will end up replacing most of them anyway.

Definitely change it over. I am VERY fortunate to have an all-new air suspension system on my XT, and I'm gonna leave it alone for now...

It's a very cool system, and actually not hard to mess around with. You can't do anything inside the struts, but removal is easy, don't even need a spring compressor :)

But when they blow their seals (no ifs, they will) there's no hope' and the only way to restore the air suspension system is to replace the struts. While many people get lucky and find someone selling a good strut, or find a good one in a junkyard, most revert to having the dealer replace them. And brand new struts are $300-$500 APIECE!!!

When my XT's new suspension kicks the bucket, I am without a doubt converting it. I'll miss the air suspension, but I'd miss $1200 more

Cut your loss. Find a junked legacy and swap the suspension. Even old standard strut/spring would be better than a failing air setup.

Dont forget to remove the compressor from the drivers fender well for weight savings.
