there aren't as many here as you'll find on other forums since this one is mainly dedicated to the BC/BF series.

BD/BG stopped in 99, BE/BH from 2000-04, and i'm not sure what the chassis code for the new Legacy is, but it not going to be BF/BI, cause BF is already taken!

I'm on my third BD/BG model, two white 97 GT sedans (one with 01 2.5rs swap) and a 98 legacy outback. If theres anything specific your interested in...you can give me a shout.

Funny, I had heard the new ones are BL/BP

I would think that they'd follow convention and have the sedan be a lesser second letter than the wagon, so BL/BP makes more sense.

Ive had enough experience with the second generation to know they are a definite step down in quality when compared to a first gen legacy, especially a japan built 90-91.

There are too many examples for me to remember off hand. Ive heard comments about how subaru designed the first generation with comments from outsiders and its easy to see that while it is true the second generation was made more to save money.
Just to give you an idea I purchased some 97 Legacy GT seats and Im ready to throw them away and go back to first generation seats. Having one vehicle with each and helping two people purchase second gen legacy in the past couple months I can easily feel the difference.
SO many small items have been removed.

I second that!! Having owned a 90 LSi and then trading "up" to a 97 GT, I can say that the quality of craftsmanship wasn't exactly what I thought of as an improvement. I personally HATED the hell I went through with the car. The 90 legacy was a tank, that I abused like nobody's business . . . I babied the GT, and ended up with a set of blown headgaskets. The owner after me saw the destruction of its tranny.

Now I'm driving a 91 turbo. Might not be as reliable electrically as the previous cars, but those cars also didn't have 208,000miles on them. This car was made to last and actually brings back my belief in subaru reliability.
