I'm leaving out the Porsche engine since it's a $300,000 car and I doubt the engine would be it. I've voted on my suspicions, now so can you!

No choice for EJ20?

Its definatly a later year engine, the AC belt cover is plastic, which should mean it has the threaded hole with rubber bushing power stearing mount and the round power stearing tank.
Is the little ridge in the center of the throttle body (below where the coil pack would mount) a clue?

it very well could be. If his parents are so rich as to afford such an engine for him, why does he have such a crappy camera?

The alternator is too new to be from an EJ22t, as is the style of cover over the a/c pump. In addition, please note in the second picture what looks like the diamond-pack coil, this is not on any ej20 engine as they all used coil-on-plug style ignition.

The paint color on the rail (in front of the radiator) also appears to be Aegean Blue, not the green shown in earlier pictures.

the cover looks like a SOHC cover w/crappy paint on it. and the intake manifold doesnt look all that dirty. i think he may have realised he made an ass out of himself and decided to f-f-f-f-f-f-fade away.

just looked up his posts and was active as of sunday so chime on in and straighten us out kiddo!

why would you make you first post on a subaru board titled sti and FHI will rip you off?

it makes me wonder if he wiped after taking a dump in our kitchen!

Yeah, it was a good story, but I don't get enough on unemployment to buy it. I'd say it's bone stock with a painted cover. Not even the right shade of red. I doubt that engine's ever been out of that car. Stock radiator, too, BTW.
