A good friend has a rare 92 BMW M5, really they exist. It has a ported head and a Dinan chip, putting 290hp@the wheels from the 3.7 straight Six. The two of us were driving down I-25 in CO going to Denver from Ft Collins. I was driving my 92 NA Leg...the snorkus-ectimy being my power mod. I was infront of him on the onramp and gave it all my little sube could muster. He passed me like I was standing still while I was about to shift into 4th at about 70mph coming off the onramp. He was in 5th gear and using the Acc. button on his cruise control...Whaaapa-back into my place. I keep trying for a rematch in some weather, but he won't drive his big brivarian I-have"size"issues-phallis-mobile if it's as much as windy out.

Even in inclement weather I don't think you'd stand a chance
Those were/are badass cars. My BMW mechanic buddy lusts after those things.

None of those were imported to the US, only a few hundred to Canada, right?

A girl I went to HS with was picked up in one every day. Yes a early 90's
M5... I saw the badge...
British racing green, had M stripes across the hood, GORGEOUS car!!! And he drove it right too. Redlined it every single day out of school, and I stopped what I was doing every day to hear it leave.
I also saw one broken down under an overpass not too long ago

Of the 12,000 or so E-34 M5s made something like 700 made it to the US. Don't quote me on that, but I think that is right. Just for fun this guy called into the local BMW, Co's in Ft. Fun, and asked the parts dept to look up what a replacement engine would be. They quoted him "a bit over 10K." I'd say it's worth it, easily the best sounding intake/exhaust on anything.

Nah, they were imported to the US.
Easily one of the most potent sport sedans on the market (in the time). Someone at my high school, their dad had one. It was fast, and oh so fun. E34 + M power =
I have a friend with an E30 M3. If you want to talk about fun, that car is it. Not because it's fast (which it is, very fast for an E30), but because a blip of the throttle and you are sideways. sooooo nice.
