Will an AC Compressor from a 99 legacy fit my 92 turbo?

Pretty straight forward... Im curious if it would fit, and would I have to switch to the new type of coolant becuase of the new compressor or is it even possible to bring it to a shop and have them recharge it with the old type after I switch them?
Thanks

You won't be able to recharge the system with the old fluid/gas(I'm not sure which) AFAIK. I think they'll make you change over to the new type if you have your system evacuated. I'm not too sure about fitment of the newer compressor either unfortunately. I guess I'm really not much help at all

Most likely no the 99 compressor will not work. There's differences in AC compressors between the same model years on our cars.
You could get your system charged with r12, at a tune of about 50 bucks or more for a can, and you'd need at least two cans. That is assuming the shop you go to, has r12.
Do a search for a/c conversion. I've got a detailed write-up on converting my legacy.

I retrofitted my old condenser with a retrofit kit from the local autozone (Yeah, I know, not the PROPER way to do it). Cost me $30 for the new oil and pressure line/fittings, and $20 for the big can of r-134 refridgerant. I was actually suprised how cold my car got with the 90 degree heat we've been getting *shrug*
