My friend used to be part of the Falls Church PD. He had friends in other VA PDs who were able to "modify" their cruisers with whatever they wanted. They had a driving "shootout" between the PDs and this group cleaned up!! Especially with a supercharged Crown Vic with a motor swap (not sure what kind).

The only supercharged engine swap I could think of would be a saleen engine, or a 2003 cobra engine. It would have been cheaper to get a 4000 supercharger kit (with air water intercooler and screw type SC).

Nope, this was back in the late nineties, IIRC. I believe he swapped out the engine for another Ford n/a engine and then supercharged it. I'll have to ask my friend again.

Well in the 90's the polic crown vic had the 4.6 with 210hp, what else would he have swapped besides a 5.0 pushrod?

Ya got me. Dunno Fords.

The engines that can fit in the C-Vic are ridiculous.

It's not an uncommon swap to toss the 5.4L Triton V8 in there, or even the *gasp* 6.8L V10.

Happens more than you'd imagine. Almost as common as the 5.0L swap in the Ranger (which is remarkably common).

Sure, we can outrun the cop cars (the radio is a bit trickier). But cops don't always use the Interceptors. It's not uncommon for police, espically around my area, to use their own personal vehicles for persuit.

Although I've yet to see it, the paper up here reported that the MAHP was using drug-seizure cars for pursuit. They had an F-150 Lightning and a Corvette as well as some slower stuff you'd never expect would be a cop in the rearview. I know I usually don't worry much unless I see Ford light sig's in back.

It'll still be slow.

I always wanted to do the 2.3 turbo coupe swap into my old 88 ranger but never had the $$ :(

I agree. The 4.6 is still the best engine to work with. Put a 6 psi positive displacement blower with air to water intercooler and you have all the low end torque you need (past the other larger engines).
