Free CarFax 2/17

Post by DLC »

Per a post on NASIOC, CarFax is offering their services to all for free today.

I had paid for this some time ago, and found little of note, but this time i found that my car (an early 93), wasn't sold till 94, auctioned in 94 and was in a passenger-side accident in 94. Nothing noteworthy otherwise, but interesting still..

It lists the first owner as 1998 (me). For some reason they didn't pull up the original NH title.

Nevermind:

This sedan has had 3 owners and was owned in New Jersey, New York and Maryland. The first title for this sedan was reported to CARFAX by a New Jersey DMV in 1991.
It has had no minor or moderate accidents reported to CARFAX.
It has had no DMV-reported total loss events, like a major accident, fire or flood.
It has a consistent mileage history with no indication of an odometer rollback. It was driven an average of 14,304 miles per year, which is slightly lower than the industry average of 15,000. The last odometer reading, reported on 07/11/2002, was 160,358 miles.
It was not reported to a DMV as a Manufacturer Buyback (LEMON).
It has no recalls that still require repair.

My Legacy is reported as clean and having 3 owners (including me).
But then again, I carfaxed a 91 SS that came back clean, but that car had been in multiple accidents and surely had the odo rolled back.
