Would you want a front lip?

As seen here? He sent me a pm saying that he'd ship the mold for this bumper over here and let use it to have some lips made. But I dunno if I want to take on this endeavor.

First and formost I'd be doing this out of my pocket, I wouldn't ask for money in advance because I don't want anything to end up like the group buy on the hoods and rs bumpers by dave c/bussacca. Also I wouldn't be able to do more than a couple at a time (I don't make a whole bunch of money). I would only charge as much as it cost's to have the bumper made, pay for the mold, and gas other supplies needed, plus shipping of course. I'd rather not make a profit off you guys. He said he sells them for about 160/180 us just fyi.

Second, since I would be doing this as a service it would be done in my spare time, which I do have a lot of, but it's not unlimited, depending on how long it takes a lip to be made like if it took 2 days I'd say figure about a week from ordering to shipping.

Thirdly if anyone else would like to do this, be my guest. I'm not trying to hoard it and anything like that, and I'm sure it'd make very little difference who he sent it to.

Finally, if this only bolts up to post-facelift I wouldn't mind testing and figuring out what extra would be needed to make it work on pre-facelift cars. So I'd try to help everyone.

EDIT: As per this post, the will bolt up to any bc/bf bumper I would test it to make sure though.

I'll have to pay for the mold, so I'm going to factor that into the cost of the lip. He said something like 650 plus shipping so figure about 50 bucks added on each lip for costs. As for making myself vs having someone else do it. That depends on how much someone would charge for it, how much free time I've got, and if I can learn to use fiberglass from scratch(that doesn't sound too hot).

At anyrate vote :D

If nothing else, you could upgrade to the facelifted front end.

Definately down for one as soon as I get the coin.

Facelift = ?

I'll have to see what other body mods I want to do before I take the car to get re-painted. I think a body color lip would be pretty slick :).

Car should remain the same color, you think I should paint the lip body color or what?

Facelift refers to the design change in the 92 MY. The one you pictured, the new wagon icon, etc. etc. are the facelifted models. My Legacy is pre-facelifted, click on my sig...

I voted no. In fact, I wouldn't do anything visually to the outside of our cars. They look damn good already

Prefacelift one for me, minor modifications would be fine with me.

Not on the priorty list for me right now though... so if you think you could make a few, but were able to take the hit of waiting a year or so to unload all the ones you make then I'd pretty much guarantee I'd get one.

...But...but... you'd be able to see at night! And people in adjacent lanes would be able to see your turn signals!

I wouldn't want to add that lip. I would probably tear it right off the next time it snowed and I went for a fun drive anyway.

vr3g, I'd say that too if This wasn't my only car and I had a main daily driver. but I have to use this car as a daily drive, and I'd like to show it off as much as possible too.

I'd rather do them on a pre need basis I'm willing to wait however long it'll take though.

If you make one for my 94, I'll take one. I'll have to let you know when though. Jury is still out on whether or not to leave it black or get it painted.

If I were to do anything to the body of my car to make it look semi-decent, then, yes. But i'm not, so, no.

I want one to improve high speed stability, though new bushings would help, too.

vrg3 - carrots. I have no complaints about the pre-facelift lights. Then again, I can drive unlit highways with just the parking lights reflecting off the road paint and guardrails, so maybe I'm part owl.

Aegean Blue Metallic I believe. I am trying to find the breakdown of the number of turbo cars sold annually and then by colors in that year.

I've NEVER seen this color before, so I wonder just how rare it happens to be? I'll keep it this color if the paint shop can get the original factory color.

Won't this bumper lip only fit turbo model bumpers? N/A bumpers are significantly different and would require some modifying. Also I don't think there is any real problem between pre and post faclifted models, the bottoms of the bumpers where the lip actually attaches is the same.

BAC - I think that color only came on '94 turbos. I test drove a sedan that color and have seen 1 touring wagon in that color, but that's it.

Yea, I remember you telling me about the car you test drove that looked exactly like mine. I forgot to tell you, this isn't the car you drove. Not in the least. No smoke, starts right up perfectly. 1 owner car, perfect condition. Bone stock (first thing I did was check underhood for the Air/Water you were telling me about).

Anyone know of a Breakdown of the production numbers? I recall reading that there were only 170 5MT Sport Sedan's in 94, I wonder how many of them were Aegean Blue Metallic?

After some deliberation, I decided to keep it the stock color. Espically if it's really rare. I'll also be painting the lip.

BTW: Something really weird about my car... The sunroof is blue. I guess it cracked and the previous owner replaced it with a tinted roof. It looks kind of cool I guess, but it's weird.

That's odd I got the same thing, and always wondered why it was like that... Maybe it was an option?

Seriously? It's the weirdest option I've ever heard of. It doesn't really do anything but make the interior look blue, lol.

It does look almost body color on my car though...
