Okay, so I'm in the process of putting the suspension together on my 90 Legacy LS AWD n/a. I've ordered KYB GR2's and new bushings, but I'm going to stick with stock top-mounts (or replace with OEM standard mounts as they may be a bit worn out; my right read strut is blown completely and it tops out on rough roads or big bumps -railroad tracks put the fear of God into my passengers. hehe). Aslo, I'm pronbably going to retain the stock springs, but as per the top-mounts, I may replace them with OEM springs if they prove to be "beat".
So my main question is now that of wheel and tire selection.
To wit: are WRX wheels the best choice (I like the design and I'm rather fond of the brushed aluminium 5 spoke design I've seen on some -not sure what year that is though)?
I've been scanning through MANY threads on the subject, but nothing that is definitive in as far as wether or not WRX wheels will bolt on to my Legacy without any problems (e.g., wheel rubbing the wheel well, making contact with the strut components, etc). Is there a general rule of thumb by which to select a proper WRX wheel/tire combonation for particular year/model Legacy's (if you get my drift)?
I'm still pretty new to the whole process involved in upgrading, but I'm a quick learner if only because of all the hands on experience I get...
Long story short for me is that I don't want to get stuck shelling out a bunch of deneiro ($) for wheels and tires that won't fit my car or will end up messing up wheel bearings and throw off my speedo and odometer accuracy.
I dunno, I hope that makes sense but I'm sort of stuck atm. Personally, I think anything will be better than the stock 14"'s I have on now (although they are the original alloy rims and they're in very good shape).
Anyway, that's about it.

If you use 205 50 16 you wont have rubbing problems, especially with a FWD legacy.

WRX wheels are the best choice when cost is a concern, they arent the best choice otherwise.

So assuming that cost isn't an issue (but of course it is), I could theoretically walk into a store an just buy a 15" or 16" wheel without any concerns? I'm assuming the salespeople would be somewhat familiar with any problems that might arise with using wheels that are too big or whatever? But aside from that would there be any other legitimate concerns or things to be wary of?

Weight. Most wheels are too heavy. Thats why the WRX ones are so great, only 16 pounds. Even a single pound increase is important when it comes to rotatin mass.

I replaced all 4 15" wheels on mine with stock WRX wheels & tires. Direct bolt on, perfect fit, no rubbing. Looks good too, chicks will dig you.
