i bought it for $200 with a ticking motor, bad struts and a messed up window...
so far, ive replaced:
struts: kyb gr-2
all interior out of a 93 legacy turbo
motor with 80k miles
rims and tires from the same turbo (badly in need of refinishing)
trunk
and 4 new doors are currently at the paint shop, the ones on it were dented pretty badly at/from the auction
and last but not least, i put the window back on its track ;)
not the best looking subaru, but its growin on me

-edit- nothing like the simplicity of just uploading a image

Was the silverish one the $200 car that you initially purchased?

I thought the silver one looked very promising. A little bondo and a couple thousand dollars in body work. :D

so the subaru is just about gone. i sold it to pay for some repairs on my impreza, it needs a few things for it to be in good shape,so i say so long legacy.....
ill be on the look out for another, as legacy are where its at ;)
kinda looking forward to a AWD 5mt though :D make winter a little more fun then a 2wd Auto.....

start shopping for sport sedans. you'll wonder why you even bothered with anything else.

shoot, sell the impreza, too. I like my combo: Sport Sedan + 5MT 4x4 GL.

Both are great for 3 seasons of driving. SS gets put up for one (now you see why the other vehicle has to be 4x4, otherwise how could I sanely put the Legacy away for the slippery stuff?) GL's are a dime a dozen, $500 or less. Something goes wrong with one... sell it and buy another. cheaper than fixing or just fix one up until it is solid which is not very hard. i think i might lift mine... hmmm... i'll see.

P.S. - On a side note. I'm not a Subaru nut, per se. I have nothing against them but my last two purchases were purely function over form. I wanted a really fast 4-door that i could afford (legacy + mods. check.) Then I needed a reliable 4x4. 5mt + wagon (to fit large sound system formerly in brat) would make it perfect (GMC Eagle, too expensive 4x4 not solid.... 4x4 GL Station wagon. check.) Subaru is what you get for getting addicted to 4 wheels driving you without a large budget.

hmmph, i seem to have fit my life story in your thread, sorry
