Stand Alone Engine Management.

I was interested in the AEM EMS setup, but, lo-and-behold, there is no application for our cars. Kinda sucks, I was pretty stoked about that setup.
So, I've been looking and was wondering who, besides Kelley, is running the Autronic setup?
The turbo legacy isn't listed on their application lists, so I was wondering what system you guys used (be it Autronic or other).
Just curious as the ECU is looking more and more to be my first mod.
Thanks!

Here's what I know. Ecutek makes all the ECUs for AEM.
Ecutek wanted to keep the "monopoly" on theyr Subaru sofware.
That might explain why you didn't find anything at AEM.
Me for my rally car project, I'm going with a GEMS.

What about a Possum link system for the Liberty RS? That should work as well.

I've had nothing but good experiences with electromotive. I purchased my Tec II from Vishnu as part of their 2.5RS turbo kit. Easy install, easy tuning, VERY high quality unit. The factory ecu takes care of everything except fuel and spark (wastegate spring is 6psi so I'm not using electronic boost control, although that provision exists).
Tec III's are pretty expensive, but I've seen a couple of Tec II's on ebay for around $1K.
I should still have the Vishnu install guide as a pdf if you're interested.

I actually have heard that the E-TEC II doesn't work very well for our cars but that the E-TEC III works really well ( Primitive uses it on their EJ22T powered Impreza rally car). I think Subiekid ran the TEC II and upgraded to a TEC III because he wasn't happy with the II.

The Tec III has MANY more features that the earlier Tec's that make it more adaptable to our application. However, the Tec II is a great unit that does work well with our cars, as long as you design it's limitations into your upgrade. And it can be found for cheap!!
Eklund's USX impreza used an early version of the Tec II as late as Oregon Trail '02. I don't know if he's upgraded since then, but I find it unlikely since both of his Subaru rally cars are up for sale.
As a side note, I also plan on upgrading to a Tec III for my RS. The Tec II will find a home in the Legacy when I get off my butt and put it back together. The Tec III is pretty nice

we will have two ecu plug and play options for the legacy turbo and other subaru's very soon. I hope to get the info up on the website this weekend. I believe that our ecu's are the best prouct period. from the chips to the software these are the best and at a very reasonable price.

Paul was one of the first people to use the tec2 in that evironment. Hell, I remember helping him with it's initial testing. The USX has been sold to another NW rally driver. I no longer crew for Paul as i'm co-driving now, but being involved in the rally scene keeps ya in the loop, ya know?
The WRX uses a UniChip piggyback at the moment, but the UTEC is en route as you may notice reading his site:
We will be installing a 2.2 liter DOHC closed deck motor with 6-speed transmission in June 2004. It will have a UTEC engine management system and produce approx 345hp with 330 ft lbs torque! Price will go up upon completion of that upgrade
